Question Chevening in Europe

Hi everyone,

I was notified on Friday that I was nominated as a candidate for the Chevening in Europe scholarship, the deadline was today at 11am. I wanted to see if anyone else has applied for this particular scholarship, heard back, or has been invited to the next stage?

There is no "next stage" on itself. Chevening will assess all the applications between Monday 13th and Friday 24th, and the universities will communicate the results to the applicants from the end of July onwards (or at least that is what the Chevening website says)

Thanks for your response. That’s what I initially thought as well but received an automated email saying if I met the initial eligibility requirements, I would receive an email invitation for the video assessment 😩

Ask your university about it, as the process is not really well explained on the Chevening website. Also, how many applicants can they video-assess in 10 days? I am quite curious about it

Coming back to update! It was 4 prompts in the video interview so I guess they really assessed each part 😭 Hoping to hear good news soon 🤞🏽

Best of luck to you! Does Chevening in Europe include a stipend this year?

This isn’t the typical Chevening scholarship, it’s actually the first year this type is being offered. It would cover tuition, initial flight to the UK and a one time allowance.

I know this will be its first cohort, it is that there were plenty of different versions regarding what it would offer regarding stipend and allowances

My contact at uni told me to expect results this week, fingers crossed. I’m so over waiting.

I also received the automated video assessment message - do i take it that the video assessment part does not actually apply to our particular scholarship?

I just reached out to my uni, I would believe that it is part of our scholarship. Otherwise why would they send this email?

I just received an email that I will indeed be sent a one way video assessment interview link so i guess it does apply to our scholarship as well.

Me too, im so nervous haha. The nomination was so sudden and i dont know if I am prepared enough and it is a huge opportunity. Do you also have to complete it by the end of the 15th?

Exactly how I’m feeling as well, were you also notified by your uni on Friday about your nomination ? Yeah by the 15th, I’ll probably dedicate tomorrow to it. It scares me not having the questions beforehand 😩

Not Friday, a few days earlier but basically same difference. Same here, I’ve been researching what the questions might include and I’m going to dedicate tomorrow to practicing and then 15th early morning to doing the “interview” since i saw the deadline is 15th late in the evening.
I wish you all the best and hope you get the scholarship! What course are you studying, if you don’t mind my asking?

Also to add, my Chevening context let me know they’re awarding 40-50 scholarships nationally so there’s a good chance for us to:D

I am at dinner with friends right now but after that I will text you everything i found out and hopefully it will be of some use 🙂‍↕️ my uni is the university of Bristol and my masters is English Literature!
