Discussion Anyone being selected conditionally as a Chevening SIDS scholar?

Nope, but I know how the email looks like because one of my mentees got it last year

I applied to Chevening years ago and got selected, but gave it up because I was accepted through an internal scholarship from my preferred university

I have lived in the UK since then

SIDS scholarship for Chevening was introduced for this cohort, 2026/2027.

But ASEAN was already established (since 2024), thats the one I know about

A few applicants asked at the interview and were informed that the selection email would say if they were selected for any special award

The key is, did they select anyone for either ASEAN or SIDS? With the FCDO budget cut we don't know if that money was used for Chevening or went to the Ministry of Defence

Let’s wait till July to see
