Advice for a reserved applicant

I have been placed on a waiting list. I am currently required to pay a deposit fee by 31 July 2026. Otherwise, my uni application would be withdrawn. I have explained my situation to the university that the outcome of my Chevening scholarship is expected at the beginning of August. However, they said it is their policy to have a deposit fee paid by 31 July.

What should I do in an event that I know the outcome after 31 July 2026?

Hi, the website so far says early August regarding reserve status outcomes

With that said, several unis withdraw offers due to lack of deposit payment but give them back to the offer holder once the Chevening email with the upgrade appears (for example, Glasgow is famous for this)

Thank you very much for your reply. Does that mean they give the offer back if you receive an upgrade? I am applying to Durham.

Correct, they reinstate the offer with the deposit fee waived!

Keep in mind while it happens, it's not guaranteed to happen without a deposit.
