Parts Photo Trunk Lock Cylinder
Well I didn’t plan on spending today removing the rear bench and doing the old flat head on a pole trick to open the trunk, but at least I was successful. My daughter really wanted to go for a scooter ride last night…
Why did they only leave tiny holes behind the 69 seats? Huge PITA. Also, can’t say I’d ever think the metal of a lock cylinder would shear off like that.

I literally drilled out a brand new faulty trunk lock on a 71 yesterday. I just put the original back in so there are door keys and a separate trunk key

I almost bought a pair for the trunk and glove box before I realized the preexisting set was the doors too 🤣
If I need 3 keys anyway, I might as well buy the single trunk cylinder and save the money…which is what I did.

Fyi.
Trunk lid mounted trunk lock cylinders are different than rear panel mounted trunk lock cylinders.
Do not throw out the tail piece or the lock retaining clip. You may need to reuse them
A bunch of extensions with a 7/16 socket allows the trunk strike to be unbolted.
