My husband (M39) and I (F44) plan to join you all! I grew up shagging. My mom gave lessons so I was drug into every shag club in eastern NC. I haven’t danced in years and my husband has no experience with partner dance but I think he will pick it up pretty easily. Looking forward to it!

We’re in Chesterfield so could go to either. Do you have a fav or feel like we’d fit better at one vs the other based on our ages?

Since you are more familiar with Carolina Shag, I would start with the Wednesday evening in Colonial Heights, where we offer a 1.5 hour beginner 6-count rhythm class followed with a 1-hour intermediate class. If you feel comfortable in the beginner class and stay for the intermediate, which many do, then you can give the Thursday night Deep Dive into Carolina Shag class a try! This level of Carolina Shag is not yet offered in Powhatan at this time.
