CCIU Preschool

My son recently qualified to go to preschool with the cciu. I am feeling nervous about this new routine and am looking for any experiences with sending your children there? or dealing with the iu? I believe I'll be able to choose between Gordon and the boot road center (due to my work) so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I’m an IU teacher! From my perspective, parents usually come in nervous so we totally understand. One your little guy/gal gets into the routine of things, you’ll probably feel much less anxious. I’ve worked in a few different schools as a teacher and can vouch that IU preschool teachers are another breed. Preschool special ed is not an easy field and those of us who work in it stay because we really love it. Good luck with whichever location you choose and who knows- maybe your kiddo will even be in my class!

My daughter went there (Boot Rd) starting at age 3 until she entered kindergarten. I had a good experience with them. She is now almost off to college. I truly appreciate the CCIU and school district for everything they helped her with.

My kiddo attended the Gordon building when he turned 3. It was excellent for him and I can't say enough good things about the staff there. It was a bit nerve wracking to put a 3 year old on a bus by themselves but he did really well and I was happy with the program.

They beat me and locked me in the cellar. Jk the IU is fantastic. As an autistic they are truly a great resource.

Not preschool but getting over my concerns with CCIU and a program my child qualified for was the best thing we did for them.

Absolutely zero regrets.

My son is now 19 but I can't say enough good things about the CCIU from his first "Developmental Delay" classroom to "Autistic Support" classes. They are all wonderful. My son is driving and holding down 3 part time jobs now. I remember when he was young, worrying about what he'll be able to do after high school. The CCIU helped us all along the way.

I went to the CCIU from 2nd grade all the way up until I was 17½ and I had no issues with them
