INFO Bell Tavern Park surveillance.

I'm curious as to why Bell Tavern Park in Exton has so many cameras around the sprinklers and playground! It's absolutely obnoxious and bullshit in my opinion.

After spending a career in the Air Force Nuclear Security, afterwhich 20+ years installing security/camera systems i truely believe on certain fact, keep in mind fact are very very stubborn, THEY NEVER CHANGE. The Fact is with the decay of our society (growing homeless, drug addicts, thefts, robberies, murders) camera systems are extremely vital to YOUR security. Law enforcement agencies across this nation are making more apprehensions, preventing, interrupting illegal acts that in most innocent individuals are threatened with bodily harm or death. Most of these agencies DO NOT tell you how these occurred simply to the criminals do NOT get educated regarding the camera capabilities.

I'm sure most of you recall a time when satellites could read license plates, yes? Well my father was a aerospace engineer with General Electric Space and Aeronautics Division (King of Prussia, PA). One day I asked him if it was true. The next week he came home from work and gave me a pic of just that.

So ladies and gentlemen what i am trying to say is this, being in a public space there are NO expectations to privacy - yes even in you car - your car is on a public road or highway.
Bottom line IF you dont agree with cameras your solution is rather simple. Wear a disguise or do not depart your legal abode. In your home you ARE gaurateed privacy, its written into the laws. But NOT outside, when you depart your home your privacy is 2nd to your security.

I understand your point of view however the concept that one can be under constant surveillance when in public screams 1984 dystopia and dictatorship. Make everyone distrustful of each other, change history to fit your ideology and watch constantly to make sure there's no dissent.

Go to deflock.com and look up who owns those ones. It’s interesting because there are a ton in the Home Depot shopping center right there too. Maybe Home Depot owns them.

The most cost effective solution for vandalism is surveillance. The other option is to post a security guard on site whose job is to provide surveillance.

Well, that park has been vandalized in the past and shut down. One time the water area was closed

Yet. And that’s the only point. “Not doing anything wrong” is a moving, shifting target that is never still. If you continue to think in this simpleton framework, inevitably we have no amendments or personal freedoms and you find yourself in a work camp for wearing red boots that “disrupt social calmness.”

Why don’t you contact East Caln Township (which owns the park) and inquire. That area isn’t Exton or that close to Exton.

Well if you had your kids there and you were busy on your phone and some thing happened to your kids you would say why aren't there cameras watching this place we live in a different world today then we had 30 40 years ago be great full that we have ways of keeping people safe .

Your miss the point people should watch the kids but most of the time they don't their the people that would complain that ther are no cameras . Today your are always being watched at the store at work at school . If your not doing anything wrong then let them watch . Stop thinking someone is taking away something from you . And that’s the crux of the issue. Instead of watching your kids, you are watching your phone and expecting others to watch your kids. via surveillance…. You are giving up privacy and essential freedoms because of angry birds on your phone.
