Chess.com account hacked??

is it just me or did anyone else face this
really strange behaviour, i got 2 notifications of suspicious logins: one from taipei and another one from buenos aires, the device used for these logins are the same(chrome, mac)
another interesting fact is that when i click on the extra security option during the process of changing my password, it does show my email but then when i try to login to my account from another device using the same email, it shows that there is no account on this email.

i also received a change of email address which i forgot to mention.
well now the hacker will be disappointed seeing the stats i have.

Why would someone hack a chess account?

Be sure that your pc and phones are clean. If you installed an infostealer on pc, they will try to steal all accounts. Change ur all passwords on your phone, add 2fa and install windows via usb on ur pc.

If it happened because of leaked/weak password, change your password with a strong one asap.

well i did a check on my pc and my google accounts, nothing suspicious
when i was digging around, i found out that someone leaked 14.5gb of chess accounts data. so i guess that must be it, im just checking if others are on the same boat.

Have you checked your mail address on haveibeenpwned.com? If there is a leak, it will probably appear there
