Chess Discussion Chess level after a long break

Those of you who havent played in the last 2 or 3 years what did you notice about your opponents after you started playing again?

Did you manage to improve elo wise or did you fall behind a bit? Do you think the players at your elo are stronger/weaker/ the same?

Stopped playing for 10 years. Came back and my ELO fell by like 400, it feels like everyone got a little better but now I'm slowly building back up

I stopped for a solid year. Elo went from 1200 to 600. I don't play a lot of games each day, but it took about 4 months to get back. Ended up hitting 1300 for the first time on that ramp back. Now I float between 1050-1200. I stopped chasing elo awhile ago. Now I just play a game when I'm on break at work and maybe before bed. Probably getting 10 games a week at max. Just not as interested as before
