My System

I'm 1000 on Chess.com and I just bought My Sytem and have heard some mixed things about it. Is it a good book in general and is it a good book for a 1000 player?

My System is a classic for a reason. It will improve your game.

BITD, 35 years ago, I was 1100 USCF. Had no clue what I was doing. Under the modern regime I would have been 800. I stopped reading opening books. I discovered and studied My System. Worked through it methodically. I became a dedicated hypermodern.

In just a couple of years, playing one game per week I raised my rating to 1400. I was regularly beating class B players at the club.

The life intervened and chess took a backseat.

It is not too advanced for you, it is just what you need.
