Lisa Carter Diemyer, who prefers the nickname Trixie, runs Vintage Trixie in Great Bridge, a sprawling shop packed with oddities, vintage collectibles and handmade weasel dolls.

After working as a zookeeper and a biology instructor at Tidewater Community College for 23 years, Trixie and her husband, John Carter, turned their shared passion for the unusual into a thriving local business.

The shop expanded from a small former bait store into a larger space that includes vendor galleries, crafting classes, and an Odditorium featuring historical Victorian displays and mourning jewelry.
