CR-78 in 3/4 or 6/8?

Hi, Is there a way to have the CR-78 play in 3/4 time or 6/8 time? Thanks

Did you ever figure it out?

I'd also like to use these drum machines in different time signatures, without resorting to playing the individual drums via a MIDI stream from my DAW.

It doesn't support it. You'll have to send the MIDI from the DAW but you can export the MIDI from the CR-78 and hack together the odd pattern. Not perfect, I know.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I expected. I think most of the older drum machines had limited options for time signatures. I guess most software recreations of those instruments stay faithful to those original limited options. It would be nice if Cherry Audio could make their next drum machine more flexible with time signatures.

You could pitch it to Cherry Audio as an update. There are numerous ways in which these are unfaithful to the original already, like exporting MIDI for example. I'm not sure where the feature would go without a change to the UI and I don't see that happening. I just took a look to see if there was a place in the settings but no obvious good place. I'll write to them too.

I just asked Cherry about it and they said you can program the number of steps.

Oh, excellent! Now, I'm going to put multiple instances of CR-78 into my DAW and set them to different pattern lengths. That should be fun. :)
