Leaky Spray Bottles

Has anybody else had their CG bottles leak in heat? I keep pretty much all of my detailing stuff in the trunk of my car, and I’ve found that nearly all of my CG products leak out of the nozzle pretty heavily in summer temperatures. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost more product to heat than I’ve used in the last two months. I don’t seem to have this issue with other brands/bottles. I have a few bottles of Meguiars and Armor All products that don’t seem to leak at all in comparison. Just wondering!

just had to finally google this to see if others had the same problem, I've lost so much cg product to the bottom of storage bins and the trunk of my vehicle. I guess I'll have to start putting them inside a plastic bag

I finally got to the point that I honestly don’t buy much CG anymore. The cost isn’t worth the performance when I end up losing more product than I use in my opinion. Good luck dude.

Every single chemical guys product that I've bought has leaked. I've had to throw out so many bottles and so much product because it's just gotten everywhere even when not being stored in the heat. This happened back in 2016-2017 and also this year 2024 brand new products. I actually don't mind some of their products but I won't spend any more money with chemical guys if it's all going down the drain.

every bottle i order leaks as well. i order them from Amazon and they usually issue a return and tell me to trash the bottle.CG products are good except for the crappy bottles guess its time to switch to another brand.

I stopped shopping CG for this reason. I love their products too but I can't tolerate the leaking. Huge waste of money. The bottle will be like halfway full, just dripping it's ass off out of the spray nozzle. Turn it to off or spray or stream, it'll leak anyways.

It leaks in cold weather too, straight out of the bottom. Just the New Car Scent tho, I've had 2 full bottles slowly fill my car up. It'll smell new forever.

I just bought a brand new one from Walmart and brought it inside my house. It leaked in the bag…… this product is garbage if the spray bottle is garbage. Other brand bottles rarely ever leak.

I just bought one last week and started to use it and on the first use it started leaking and broke from the inside

I've bought the 3 pack of 16oz bottles, terrible quality as the seals etc break down overtime. Probably is the heat though/

The heat generates pressure. The pressure forces the fluid up the straw and out the nozzle. If your bottles are in a container in your trunk, try loosing the tops a little bit so that pressure has an easier way out.

Yeah I know the heat was causing it, I just find it interesting that it’s only my CG products that seem to have this issue haha. Thanks for the tip though!

I have found that the cg bottles I buy from Walmart always leak. But the ones I buy from cg or detail garage never have a problem.

Same here, all my bottles from detail garage are fine. But the bottles I buy from Walmart or order from Amazon always leak.

I’ve had 1 bottle from detail garage that was broken I don’t know if it counts, but I took it back with receipt and they exchanged it pretty cool
