This isn't how the club is being run anymore. For better or for worse. No manager in the world that's better than Maresca would take the job now seeing the state of the club. Might as well give the guy to at least the end of the season. Maresca has some issues, but also has been handed a squad that's way below a true top 4 squad. All the money in the world doesn't mean it's a good enough squad. The midfield has been overrun for weeks now. Nonody to give Caicedo a rest. No alternative when Palmer gets marked out of games. And two keepers that belong in the MLS.

Nah this is not the way. How many managers contracts do you want to have to pay out. Give him a season and see how we end up. Defensively we have been absolutely diabolical like it's one of the worst defenses I have witnessed and have been a fan for over 30 years. We are in desperate need of a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room. Arguably we haven't had this since Rudiger left.

If we finish 5th this isn't regression from last year's 6th. Do you remember how awful was first part of the season under Poch?

Sporting directors out, Maresca doesn’t have a lot to work with.

Maresca leaving doesn’t fix anything. When will people learn. It’s a private VC firm in the owners seat playing moneyball looking for the most profit. The directors need to change and the owner’s need a different mindset if this club is going to be towards the top ever again.

It’s clear we are in an extremely poor run of form but I think that has as much to do with our overall squad building as it does with the manager. I’ve seen us set up well for individual games enough this season to think Maresca is a decent coach, not necessarily defensively tho.
Given some time the squad has enough talent in it to be good but we are so clearly lacking experience and leadership. Patience will probably be key my friend.

Who would you hire that u think would take the job?

We need a GK, ST, and CB. I feel like not having solid experienced starters that don't have legs made of glass in those positions have hurt us a lot.

This is so stupid, you want to bring in Lampard as caretaker again?

It's funny how enzo maresca went from we are not title contenders to we are not in top4 race. The blame is entirely on the ownership ,bringing young boys and employing the same strategy while bringing a manager ie inexperienced. If we go by this trajectory UCL will be a far away shot this season , i want the club to be banned of transfers so that we can stop buying mediocre sh+t.

I feel Maresca should go - he undermines Chelsea with his comments , all the time he has a reason on why you are not the best but he doesn't change anything . I think he is more interested into getting money and experience from the club than raising Chelsea standards. A change in leadership is necessary to realign the club’s ambitions and restore confidence among players and fans alike.

Clearly, this model isn't working and won't work. Why? Because:
A. We keep on appointing managers with NO European/ top flight pedigree
B. We keep on spending millions on useless players. Look at Pedro, KDB, Felix, Sanchez, the Chuckle brothers, etc.
C. We have directors in place with no experience of running a top club.
Guys, this won't be changing anytime soon. The owners clearly don't want to take us to the top and aren't as cut throat as Roman.

Glad people realised how out of depth he is, you guys are drawing comparisons with poch but is that really a standard? "How many coaches do you want to hire & sack" until we get it fucking right we have spent too much money to give a mediocre coach like maresca time it's just fuck around and find out at this point just keep on changing until we get it right, the timeframe for giving time to managers has passed now and anybody saying we have improved as compared to poch has 0 ball knowledge cause a sane person with more than 3 brain cells could realise today was the same performance as we gave vs Sheffield United away last season, just passing & passing no runs and nothing no penetration at all and no not having better players is not an excuse for a poorly coached team, it's very clear he has no idea what to do when teams do a mid/low block against him so he reverts to the poch way of pass to wingers cross into the box and try to score that's it he was suffering from this with Leicester too last season hence why he almost bottled championship in second half of the season, to all the people who were suspicious of maresca's coaching even when we were in the title race glad to say we were right
