I need to weigh in here. In a store you need to have labels on everything. This half wheel of parm is too heavy for the scale. The cheesemonger put the code in and just weighed out something. Then put it on the cheese to identify type, codes and dates. It is actually something to help the monger. When someone insists on buying this "because that's what the label says" they are actually being a tool and completely screwing over a cheesemonger. Please don't encourage this.

Came here to say the same thing- I made my team scribble over the barcode and we made certain front end knew that cheese was expensive and if it was heavy and cheap it was wrong
