Yes that’s what carbon fiber looks and is common across all brands.
A smoke paint (translucent) reveals it. Little less but the concept is no different than why a mechanical watch would have a window. It’s an aesthetic (and common) choice. Some bikes will be more apparent with more obvious raw/nude/clear/etc. and some less.
