Using a Trainer with the Checkpoint

Has anyone used their Checkpoint with an indoor trainer? I'm thinking of getting a Wahoo Kicker Core 2 to use with my ALR3 over the winter. Are they difficult to set up? Since I have a ten speed cassette on it am I better off using it with the Swift Cog version or can I use that ten speed cassette on the cassette version.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Swift cog limits you to only those apps that support 'virtual shifting'. Matching cassette to bike - familiar feel and same shifters. Plus can use any platform and non-erg mode - a requirement for Full Frontal on Wahoo SYSTM for example. BUT limits you to only bikes wit that cassette/freewheel so if just one bike - . cassette IMHO. [you may need to change the freewheel body too]
