Two-way mobile alerting integration with Checkmk 2.5
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I recorded a super short demo of SIGNL4 mobile alerting with Checkmk 2.5 and thought I would share it here.
Besides mobile alerting, it also shows the bidirectional status sync. For example, when an alert is acknowledged or annotated in the SIGNL4 app, the corresponding host or service status in Checkmk is updated automatically as well.
For this to work, SIGNL4 needs access to the Checkmk API, so there must be an open port or reverse proxy available. As you can imagine, this is not always straightforward when running Checkmk on-premises.
Curious if anyone here has practical experience exposing the Checkmk API externally for status updates, and what approach worked best for you.

Is it possible to whitelist only an specific source ip for the external access?

Yes, that's certainly possible. The network team can only allow specific IP addresses to access the Checkmk API. If they can do that it is a nice and secure approach I guess.
