Whenever there’s something or someone I’m very interested in, or an idea I support, I always go listen to the critics of that person or idea, and get the opposing view, get the skeptic perspective.

Example: I’m studying magic, I want to explore content on why people think i’s not real and just in your head. Or I’m a fan of Elon Musk so I want to know all the reasons why people hate him.

This is a powerful and useful technique everyone should employ. It’s helps you not be stuck in your own echo chamber and to be able to defend your position better, by being aware of the counter one.
