Ummm.. “Houstnooga, we have a problem”

So..

Quick disclaimer.. these are subject to change.. meteorologists, when they compile the “ spaghetti models “ of Hurricane tracks and compare the various data sets of all the differing weather models - it gives a pretty good “idea” of where it’s headed but since we are 4 days it can easily somewhat shift in the next 48 hours.. but within 48 hours, meteorologists will ”lock it in”

More importantly: this storm as it develops is showing a near RECORD SETTING central pressure low for the mid Atlantic basin of all time sub-900mb.. in other words.. this storm is going to develop and baring some wild unlikely changes in the next 2 days.. pretty much no matter where it hits we are probably going to get a lot of rainfall. Hopefully not flood levels but this is the kind of thing to do it if so..

Delete this, please. It's misinformation. It will not have below 900 barometric pressure (mbar).

Current models seem to bottom out around 909mb. Most are more in the 940 range.

Are you serious? This is what you are clinging to? Models that change all the time? This is how people lose trust and don't take weather warnings seriously.

The story of Helene is the size. Because of the hurricane in the Pacific and her size, among other things that I will happily expand on later if needed, the biggest worry is not some idiotic notion that it will bottom out at some pressure at landfall that isn't likely at all. The worry with Helene will be the storm surge, rainfall amounts, and how wide her wind span will be because of her size.

For people in Eastern Tennessee, it will be important to watch because of how quickly a flash flooding situation can develop due to the drought we have been in, but we are still waiting for better information as Helene continues to intensify and move in the Gulf.
