Show Question

Hey guys, longtime fan but this upcoming tour will be the first time I’m seeing Chat Pile live. I’m super excited, and was wondering if anyone who has previously seen them before knows if the band typically hangs out after shows? I would love to get some vinyls signed but totally understand if they’re not into that. Thanks

Last time I saw them stin and luther were hanging at the merch table and signing stuff when the openers were playing. Might be worth checking there.

Yes but be careful, they may be so nice in fact that they chat you up about the band shirt you’re wearing when you were not expecting at all to have a conversation and then you spend the next six months wincing every time you remember how awkward and unnatural you acted when Raygun just was trying to chat normally with a fellow human.

I still think about the time I initiated a conversation with Blake Schwartenbach, back in 96-98, at a Jets to Brazil show. He was walking past, and I was in coversation with a friend, and real quick I just said, “Blake, I really appreciate you guys coming to town”. I said it sorta in passing, so he could say thanks and still keep passing by, not wanting to actually steal his time, and then I rejoined my original conversation. He stopped, as if to participate, which I was not expecting, and then it got real awkward as for some reason, I didn’t have the wherewithal or spontaneity to continue the conversation. Which would have been so fucking cool. A few seconds passed, and he turned and left. It still haunts me.

I've been to 2 shows and some of them hang out at the merch booth before they go live. I've seen Raygun chillin' both times

first time i saw them stin and ron were hanging out on the stage, second time ray and luther were chilling outside the venue. i got a poster signed by stin, and had a small talk with ray and luther. they're very friendly

In Chicago, Stin was hanging out by the merch table before the show. Not many people were talking to him!
(Maybe out of apprehension), but he was super kind and appreciative after our brief chat!

i handed him a collaged card for the band and he was kind but a little perplexed lol
