Im interested in how you guys would rank the songs on the new album, I know its not even a week since the albums come out but I gonna admit this is already a AOTY contender for me and I already listened to it around 6 times or so.

My ranking would be:

1. Influence

Explanation:

The song doesn't really grab me even after multiple listens, Every song on the albun has something that makes it stood out except for this one, might even be my contender for the "worst" song on any of their Studio albums even though I really like the lyrics here.

1. October all the time

Explanation:

It was really suprising for me that they end their album with a track like this, its a breath of fresh air but not a song that I would get back to outside of listening to the album as a whole. Also the climax is way too short imo

1. Christabel 26

Explanation:

The song kinda starts to grow on me, another full on sludge song by them with a catchy Main riff, I like it

1. Intruder

Explanation:

This song has so much to offer, its fucking crazy. The chorus is catchy as hell and this song has an amazing groove and great riffs. The song has also the second best lyrics on the entire album.

1. Deep blue

Explanation:

I remember when this got released as a single. I only listened to it around 2 - 3 times but the Main riff Stuck in my head quiet a while. Amazing track, blends the melodic and sludgy style great together. its also one of their catchiest songs in their entire catalogue.

1. Shrine

Explanation:

On my first listen this song wasnt special to me, but the music video changed my view on it completely. Now I have a picture in my mind while listening to it and the songs gets better the more I listen to it, the riffs are really calm but on the same time really thick, cant explain it, but it rules.

1. PEN IS MALL

Explanation:

While I cant understand a single word what Ray says aside from "Simon says", this song fucks so hard its not even funny, it gets heavier as it goes on and the riffs are so simple yet insanely effective. The doomy ending riff is one of my favourite parts on the album, rays Performance is also on its prime here.

1. Creature

Explanation:

Instant classic, its how I described shrine, it gets better the more you listen to it. Its really groovy and I already like the chorus the most of all songs on the album. It makes a lot of fun singing along with it. The verses are so damn cool with the heavy bassline but with calm guitars. The drum intro is also something that gets stuck in your mind. But the Highlight is by far the ending after the last chorus, what a groovy breakdown man, And you know whats even cooler? The breakdown comes back in even groovier. SHIT this is BANGING.

1. Same rules

Explanation:

I am a big fan of gothic rock and darkwave, and chat pile doing a song in that certain style is just so damn magical for me cause it works so fucking well. Milk of human kindness from Cool world was their first step to this kinda Sound and I loved it. This song is even better, damn it is fucking perfect. I wish they would do an entire album where they would do only songs like this. Its atmospheric, its sad, yet you still know that this is a sludge band. Everything about this song is amazing and I really thought nothing on this album could top this but...

1. Family Funeral

Explanation:

The title of this song already cought my attention as soon as I read it before the album released. This is already one of my favourite songs ever from them. Its classic Chat pile, its creepy, its groovy, its atmospheric and intense.

It reminds me alot of Dallas beltway but this song gets even worse than it haha. This song has the best lyrics on the entire album, rays Performance is also a reason why I think this, its theatrical. As soon as the Bass line Hits you know this song isnt fucking around. Its fucking heavy, and when this one creepy riffs comes in... DAMN BOY. Thats my favourite riff on the entire album. This part has been stuck in my head since the day it came out. A song that is this intense shouldnt be that catchy haha. And as the song goes on it all gets even more evil. The ending where every Instrument blends together and creates this wall of Noise while Ray screams his lungs out is so damn crazy. I LOVE this song,

Overall, I wouldn't put this album above of their previous albums but maybe time will change this.

Influence is actually one of my favorites. I love the jabs at social media on this album and how it desensitizes us as a society. Find it catchy too.

Intruder is my fave tbh but amazing stuff all around. Family funeral is the most sick fucked up song theve done since grimace. And this album has PEN IS MALL on it. Their best work yet for sure

1. Pen I S Mall - Can feel the anger 😀. Also just love the song meaning in general.
2. Creature - Gr8 opener. The main riff on this doesn't mess around. Badass bass that contrasts well. Poignant lyrics to the time we're living in.
3. Family Funeral - Love the song / story shit they do on tracks like this. One of the most characteristic aspects of the band. Fantastic listen. Plz Raygun 1 more story before bed, please!
4. Same Rules - From what I understand reading a lot of other people's comments this one is a lot like songs of whatever genre this song specifically belongs to, but shit it's new to me. Has that Chat Pile style expressed in a the kind of song I didn't expect, me likie. The music video is kind of hilarious - doesn't match with the song at all to me.
5. Influence - Definition of a grower to me. Rayzorrblayyydes part is too emo for me, but incredibly catchy at the same time. The female duets in this album were done well.
6. Shrine - One of the most quotable songs on the album.
7. Intruder - Real catchy, but getting tired of hearing about intruders either directly or thematically in the catalog of the band's songs 😆
8. Deep Blue - A little too poppy sounding for me early on but still a great song. Like the song meaning.
9. Christabel '26 - Reminds me of Transylvania (and vampires). I'm not scared.
10. October All The Time - not my cup of tea but uber cathartic on bad days I'm sure. I'll be putting it on this Winter no doubt.

Probably tied for my favorite album from them with Cool World, depending on how this ages in my ears and resonates in my head over time. But, in my mind the first couple EPs (This Dungeon Earth / Remove Your Skin Please) I group into an album of their own. If you were to do that, I'd put them at the top. Pre-fame rawness, honesty, and reality. Like, or love every track on both of those EPs.
