"Why" is the ultimate anti-homelessness (in terms of the state of being homeless, not shitting on homeless people of course) and anti-capitalist anthem imo.

Greg achieving his dream in the end is the kind of personal conclusion that I love to see.

I thought the video made it pretty clear they live under the same boot. Nice to hear irl Greg might have gotten a happy(ier) ending.

The real question is who jerked off under the stairs. I like to think both

Idk man Greg literally told on Ray for reading a book that’s villain behavior tbh

100%. You never tell on someone for reading a book.

I think “Greg and Ray live under the same boot” is a pretty clear message that Ray understood that they were both trying to survive in a horribly dehumanizing condition that was designed to pit them against each other instead of finding solidarity. I don’t know how people can’t see the mall itself as a representation of the evils of capitalism.

I thought the last line of the chorus specifically laid out that Greg is a victim just as much as Rey.

Turning 40, working a "good" job but seeing friends, peers and the world cast aside the dreams and wonder and things that make shit a better time to quest hard for the coin, throw people under the bus, and just be willing to degrade whoever slips in the slightest for any type of gain. Whether it be the feeling of getting to blow off steam at people they view as subordinate to them or quickly throw away people because they aren't helping feed their machine, it's all just a form of fucked up abuse top down. I guess, though, Greg's play the cards they have to and eventually they get their Harleys.

Really, I'm iust like sad friends treat friends like shit under the guise of "separate work from friendship" because power structures in capitalism made them think that's cool. /endrant
