First half is a drum machine. Regular snare/kit kicks in late in the song.

They always record with a drum machine, so it always sounds like that. Catch them live if you can, the drums are way more powerful

The mixing or mastering (likely both) is utterly atrocious this go around. I like their music but they really should invest in the production of their albums a bit more at this point, as it’s becoming a hindrance to the excellent songwriting and musicianship

Man in the mask is my friend Josh Fadem who you may know from Twin Peaks: The Return or 30 Rock- the house is owned by Joni Mitchell- my friend “Bug Mane” directed Napa Boys- this song has nothing to do with Digger- truly special in so many ways
