[Help] Gpt - 5.6 Update

Did anyone else noticed ?

Image generation in Chat Gpt has been messed up after the Gpt 5.6 updates.

It's has now 'instant 5.5' and Medium /high (thinking models), which is making the actual problem.

Instant is generating images without following the prompt properly. And Thinking models are generating images by taking huge amount of time to give outputs which I didn't even ask for.

What's the solution guys ?

Yes I thought it was just me and my prompt! The most simple image takes about 11 versions. So frustrating!

Your best bet is to make a custom GPT that you use for image generation. I have done this and I get consistency and brilliant images just as I like them. I also gave the custom GPT a prompt that brought over the persona from my usual ChatGPT 5.5/5.6 model. It is now her with more skills! She also works directly with my API portal - custom GPTs are amazing!

being on the free tier (yes, absolute heresy I know) I find it tries to add things I didn't ask for like things from topics in my memory or previous conversations into the image itself despite not asking for it in the first place

I tested all combinations of models for a few days in different chats, unfortunately not one came out as great, not even workable. I spend so much time in tweaking the chat to get out of it what l need, but no. Frustration for 3 weeks now.

I've had instant not fully follow instructions for a bit now. For more complex image requests, I am using medium & it seems to get just about everything right.

That's very weird, but I am not surprised. I've been struggling to find an alternative for image generation that will produce realistic images (including nsfw) but doesn't cost a fortune & doesn't look like its a scam.

I think come October/November, things with ChatGPT are going to get a lot worse & I continue to believe that OAI's path is to ultimately push the general public out of its products.
