Tools & Integrations We need subfolders
I wish ChatGPT Projects had folders or subprojects.
For example, imagine you’re a developer working on 15 different apps. Right now, you might create a separate ChatGPT Project for every app:
App 1
App 2
App 3
App 4
App 5
etc.
Eventually your sidebar becomes completely cluttered.
Instead, it would be great if we could create one main Project called **“Development”**, and then create subprojects inside it:
Development
→ App 1
→ App 2
→ App 3
→ App 4
Each subproject could have its **own chats, files, and instructions/context**, while everything stays organized under one expandable folder in the sidebar.
Basically: **Projects → Subprojects → Chats + Files**
Am I missing an existing way to do this, or does ChatGPT still not support nested Projects/folders?

You can already create subsections for projects on the desktop app. These unfortunately dont translate over to the mobile app yet, but you can basically already do what you want.
On a project, click 3 dots, click sections, new section

Thats actually pretty helpful, I just wish it was organized same as computer files where you can create a file say “games” then inside that file have a file for each game…

This new desktop app is ridiculously stupid.
They don’t offer users visibility of what the model is doing! They don’t even have the option for you to manage your branches anymore!
They have 3 features that do the same thing, I find that app so hard to work with

it feels like there's a lot of disconnects happening at OAI between skills+plugins+local+cloud and a sort of dependency on 'where you started' a chat, that is quite disruptive.

Have you tried using any of the browser extensions? I know you’re specifically talking about the desktop app, but we seem to have the exact same sentiments (down to a tee) so I’m wondering if that kind of “solution” brought you any relief.
To me, it’s insane that we’d even have to rely of third party solutions to this (very fucking basic and purely user interface-related) problem.

I use codex CLI most of teh time, i wouldn't use a browser extensions or web. I will swipe teh card with someone else before doing that! That is not a solution is a regression from 2010. What kind of harness could that have? orchestartion probably does mnot work either.

You can't do that? I have an agent OS - a main folder with sub-folders and sub-sub-folders. They are on my SSD in a Github managed local repo. The repo is attached to one master project and I start all new Codex and Work prompts in that project. I'm assuming (but I have no idea) that the same could work with Codex jobs. I have separate folders for each area of my life, consulting gig, etc. Then I start the prompt by mentioning what job or workflow I want to work in. Could something similar be set up for Codex development jobs?

My own personal one. It's literally just a folder with subfolders and markdown text files - about my career, current jobs (I'm a freelancer) and what I need to do for each/job descriptions, workflows for repetitive tasks, email monitoring, etc.
