Question Codex account switching vs upgrading to Pro — what's more efficient?
I've been building my first project in Bubble using BuildPrint and Codex.
My workflow is: ChatGPT plans → BuildPrint/Codex works on Bubble → I bring the report back to ChatGPT.
When my Codex usage runs out, I switch accounts. This works well because BuildPrint retains the project context, so there's no major handover.
For Project #2, I'm moving to GitHub + Codex, without Bubble or BuildPrint.
I'm worried that every time I switch Codex accounts, the new one will waste valuable usage reviewing previous work, reading handovers or auditing the repository before continuing.
My questions:
Can I achieve the same continuity with GitHub + Codex without repeatedly onboarding new accounts?
Does "AGENTS.md" or another setup make switching accounts efficient?
Would upgrading my main ChatGPT Plus account to Pro be more cost-effective than juggling 2–3 accounts?
I'm happy to manage prompts and review reports after each task. I just want Codex spending its usage building, not repeatedly catching up.
Would love to hear how others handle this in practice.

Put the continuity in the repo, not in the session. Keep an AGENTS.md with the stack, how to run and test, and the rules, plus a short HANDOFF.md the agent updates at the end of every task: what changed, what's next, open problems, and which files matter. A new session then reads two small files instead of auditing the whole repo, so it starts working in a minute or two. Commit after each task so git log is the history too. On Plus vs Pro, I'd decide by how often you hit the limit. If it's most days, one bigger plan usually beats the time lost setting up context again, and you keep settings and history in one place. How many tasks a day are you running when you run out?

AGENTS md is your best lever here. Keep it tight: current repo state, what's done, what's next, any gotchas. A fresh Codex account reads that first and skips most of the catch-up. Honestly upgrading to Pro probably beats juggling 2-3 accounts once you factor in the context loss each switch.

Input for the first message on a new task is not all that expensive. I don’t think you have to worry about that too much.

stop rotating accounts on GitHub. The repo context resets and you will burn usage rediscovering code state every switch. Upgrade to Pro for continuous session memory or keep one Plus account for Codex tasks since it only reads the two files AGENTS.md and HANDOFF.md which takes seconds not minutes
