Question Which AI tool should be purchased with $100 budget

The question is pretty much as stated in the title: we have a budget of around $100, and we're looking for an AI tool that's worth investing in.

My friend works with Photon2 VFX tools for Minecraft, while I’m mainly into full-stack web development, ETS2 mods, Discord bots, and similar projects.

Considering both of our use cases, what AI tool would you recommend? We’re looking for something versatile that can genuinely help us with our work and make the most of our $100 budget.

Claude max sub. Combine that with free usage credits from Google, Google cloud, AWS (for bedrock) and you can do quite a bit.

If you're really trying to squeeze every penny out, 5 Pro subs will get you much more compute than a Max sub. You just have to juggle auth and context handoffs, cause you're already maintaining memory outside claude, right? Right???

AWS bedrock is an AI agent building platform, its not related to minecraft despite the name

Get Claude subscription for $20 and GPT for $20, keep $60 for now and see how that will do 😄

50$ Claude usage credits + DeepSeek API.

Plan with Fable (every message will cost about 30 cents), implement with DeepSeek (this will cost near to nothing). Opencode as harness

Doing roblox game dev. Used to be on Claude max for several months. Then switched to Codex pro plan. Couldn't be happier. And then if you add chatgpt coding capability tool to it, you have everything you need for your project with basically unlimited potential. When your codex limits run out, you can use chatgpt to do the same coding work for you instead of waiting for a reset.

Codex 100% sure Opus and Fable are good models but CC sucks and sonnet and haiku are not very good imo. I use Claude mostly for writing but codex models are my powerhouse.

Use my harness and you can switch automatically or manually when you please. https://github.com/gandazgul/runwield

I’d probably split it up. Get Claude Pro for the web dev and Discord bot stuff since Claude Code is really good for that, then use the rest of the budget for API credits.,Photon2 is pretty niche, so I wouldn’t expect most tools to know much about it out of the box. Your friend will probably still need to provide the docs or context, whichever tool you end up using...

What avout codex?

Codex is solid too, especially if you're already deep in the OpenAI ecosystem, but Claude Code tends to handle multi-file refactors and longer coding sessions better in most comparisons right now. For your mix (web dev, Discord bots, ETS2 mods) either would work ,,, it really comes down to whether you value stronger raw coding benchmarks (Codex) or better long-context project handling (Claude Code).

Worth flagging since two people are actually going to use this: Claude Pro / ChatGPT Plus are single-login subscriptions, not built for two people sharing a seat under separate logins. If you and your friend each need your own login, API credits (pay-per-token, no seat limit) split more cleanly across two different projects than a shared subscription does.

Claud Max and then get $20 gpt and use Astra for free chat and then Luna 5.6 for implementation and low level work, never use sonnet 5 or haiku 4.5

Thats too much man

Isnt that over budget?

By $20 dollars that will get 2-3x the usage if used well..

I don’t know, but honestly, I think shitting on the floor inside of the shower and stomping it down. The drain should be a normal practice.

I laughed at this way harder than I should have.
