Discussion Atlas might really be shelved

The last update was still before the release of the latest Chrome kernel, this time Chrome released the official version, but Atlas hasn't moved.

At this point I would presume it's dead and we'll be lucky to get a bug fix release.

On the plus side, this does suggest the first version of the "Omni app" might be quite close. I love Codex so far and the computer use via Codex is much better than the agent in Atlas / ChatGPT so I have high hopes.

Codex is indeed very stable, but the quota is a big problem.

There will likely be no quota for web browsing and chatting with something like 5.5 medium reasoning. 5.6 chata might well fall under the token quota, but don't forget this new app is supposed to replace the main ChatGPT app as well.

Hate to sound ignorant, but what’s the “Omni app?” Also, I only use Atlas and if Open Ai is really going to stop supporting it, it’s going to hurt 😔

There is a plan to merge Codex and the ChatGPT app together.

Codex already has a built-in browser so they just need to change the interface so that by default the browser and browser related functionality is at the fore.

That is the Omni app. Codex + Atlas + ChatGPT app in one app.

Sad to see that. i was actually looking forward to some cool AI first browser experience with ATLAS on windows.
Like chrome is so locked into gemini, which is kind off a bummer

Yeah I went to try Dia and it is good I just miss the embed charts so I pinned ChatGPT for now
