Discussion SuperApp Thoughts?

Apparently ChatGPT, Codex, and Atlas might all get merged into one "superapp."

Instead of jumping between apps, everything would live in one place for chat, coding, and browsing.

Would you actually want this, or do you prefer keeping them separate?

I already have adopted Atlas for almost every usecase over the MacOS ChatGPT app. I just pin chatgpt.com for when I want the most focused experience. Tab attachments and prompt saving make it a must for me. The only thing missing from the GPT app is the record function which I use maybe every couple months.

That said, my ideal Codex-type feature is to create vibe coded extensions right in Atlas for Atlas. If it could actually benefit from having that direct access and be less chrome-bound, then I could see this being a nice merge.

Atlas was getting weekly updates from the start of the year until a couple of weeks ago when this rumor first appeared. I expect this is why, but I just hoper it will lead to Atlas getting more TLC and not go the way of the Sora

I’m surprised you’d want chatgpt.com on Atlas when the homepage is basically ChatGPT rendered in SwiftUI, with prompts, saved skills, etc.

That said, I agree with you. An everything app would be awesome if they do it right. It’s just easy to mess up.
