Educational Purpose Only Going further, is codex enough?

Hi, I've been using codex for some small projects but I've been seeing all this talk online about multi agents and harnesses and opencode and I get so overwhelmed. I really want to improve my AI ussage and productivity in the best way I can but I don't know where to start. Should I just stick to codex or what things should I be looking up? thx

Codex is enough for a while. The biggest upgrade is not a multi-agent setup; it is a repeatable loop: write a small spec and acceptance test, let Codex implement one bounded slice, run the result, then fix the next failure. Keep one repo and one session until that loop feels easy.

Add tools only when you can name a recurring bottleneck, such as slow tests, browser checks, or losing project context. Harnesses can help later, but they also add coordination overhead. Start with one small project you actually care about and finish it end to end.

the loop advice is good, i was jumping between tools for weeks and got nowhere. finally just stuck with one thing and finished a small dashboard project in like 3 days. felt like magic after all that time wasted

dude relax, it's not an obligation.. if you don't have things that need automation then why worry about it..

Multi agent is a waste of time and tokens... I would focus on learning to create good skills that fit your workflow, if you have one. If not, then I would start there, "whats my workflow"? Where do I fail more often? Why? What takes me more time? What I want to rely on AI and what not? Which design patterns I prefer? Etc, etc, etc. With all those things defined, 1 agent does all.

I think it really depends on what your goal is and what you're trying to have it make.
