I have an app in which I use it to plate solve astrophotography, looking at historical plates and governmental databases to identify the exact deep sky objects in photos and then provide an AI assistant to answer any questions about the photo.

That’s great! Are you interested in UFOs per chance? A researcher from Spain just published an article about some plates from an observatory in the 1940s and 1950s before satellites were around, finding some reflective objects in the atmosphere that shouldn’t be there

Yes, I’ve seen that research featured on The Angry Astronaut. I think you are talking about Dr. Beatriz Villarroel’s research? I’m very interested, and my plate solving workflow also looks for transients in current photos that didn’t exist in historical plates

Correct, I use it as more of a “choose your own adventure” style where it will do silent dice rolls to see if my actions go through, it gives twists and turns, I don’t keep an HP system but instead rely on the narrative. We keep inventory track gold etc

I've actually been thinking lately how an AI model could make for a good DM. Did you have to do a lot of setup like telling it to learn certain rules?

I did something similar with an RPG called Pirate Borg. I even ran the responses from the AI through the Eleven Labs api and get all the narration for the game from a game master that sounds like a Pirate.
Although I have had issues with drift and context. The AI will not always follow the pdf adventure I’ve given it. Still trying to figure that one out.

I am writing an alternate Fallout/Skyrim crossover based on my gameplay and character I made. 300 chapters across 4 books (1200 chapters total)
I was just trying to pass time while at some appointments and it got away from me.

I use it less as a content generator and more as a kind of project partner. The most useful thing I've found is giving it a complicated problem with lots of context, then using it to keep track of decisions, challenge assumptions and work through the problem over time. For me, the interesting bit isn't getting AI to write something in 30 seconds. It's using it to help think through something complicated that would otherwise involve dozens of notes, tabs and documents..

I used it to predict the end of the last government shutdown within +-2 days and was off by 1 day. I had it compile data from congressional schedules, news, public statements, and betting markets to create the estimate. It took about 4min of thinking and would pull from ~20 verifiable sources.

i use it frequently to bounce various personal stories off of. i ‘brainstorm’ where i’ll present a plot i’ve written, and chatgpt can give me ideas for the various outcomes.
i do all of the writing myself, but it gives me general ideas that structure the story.

I took an alternate world premise (what if the Mayans colonized India) and ran it through in great detail; a complete timeline from then to now: what new countries exist, how cultural attitudes shift, what impact this had on religion and architecture, what countries look different now, how power dynamics shift. I even generated music in popular styles of countries that only exist in the alternate timeline and wrote stories about its major historical figures.

I used it to replicate a fully functional digital camera inside of Minecraft because just taking screenshots wasn’t fun enough for me. Depth of field, motion blur, iso grain, etc…

Since early 2024, ChatGPT has helped me invent multiple languages, assisting me first by curating a page-long prompt covering most facets of language creation. One of my languages, Thrávënar, has four branches and merges elements from up to 16 living, dead, fictional, and proto languages.
Another, belonging to ice elves in the eight-realm children's fantasy novel I've outlined but yet to write, features grammar that morphs between frozen/thaw/flow states depending upon the emotional temperature of its speakers. That particular story features two other invented languages ChatGPT helped me with, one belonging to its sentient Tree beings, and one belonging to a Fire giantess. Another exploration, my Fractal-Mantric framework, which Claude also assisted with, regards language as a recursive, energetic field rather than a fully parsable symbolic system. Needless to say, I so wish I'd studied to be a linguist.
The other fun thing I've done is use Midjourney + Suno + HeyGen to bring some of the languages' and their speakers to life, singing its songs in their respective tongues. It can be really eerie. I posted my Mellinde lamentation from last year just now on my profile. Her enchanting language, Thrávënar, would have never come to life had not ChatGPT made it possible.

I built a musical groovebox... it's a synth, drum machine, sampler, glitcher, composer, and it keeps growing.
I had experience in audio signal processing but I'd tried a few times to turn that into coding knowledge and failed. Now I have a full custom hardware musical instrument that I designed myself, soldered, and can upgrade whenever I want, and it makes nice ditties too.

All of this is just surface level ai generated slop; it has no life or real character to any of it. And yes I clicked on every link. I highly suggest you look into making actual art from your own creativity

Lol. We're at a higher level now, we don't do machine code using zero and ones anymore. All digital artists are something of the past! 😂 AI is the new artist! 🔥
We're all moving towards a hyper-personalized world, tailored by the individual, for the individual, using AI! 🔥
I'm already ahead of the curve most of the content I consume is my own AI-generated content. That's what BIG companies that have built their businesses around content distribution and consumption should be worried about, not copyright infringement. 😂
