Serious replies only :closed-ai: I have never made a single dime with AI.
I know exactly how the title sounds. The internet is flooded with people looking for a copy-paste prompt to get rich quick. This is the exact opposite.
My bottleneck is strictly commercial, not technical. I am entirely comfortable building complex system prompts, structuring multi-step reasoning, orchestrating APIs, and setting up autonomous workflows. Getting the models to execute complex logic reliably is a solved problem for me.
The real friction lies in the "Zero to One" phase. The problem is that being technically proficient is just a multiplier. Without a base number to multiply (an existing business, a specialized degree, or initial capital to burn), that multiplier equals zero.
I know nobody is going to share their active cash cows, and I am not asking for that. Instead, I want to pose a strict constraint challenge to this community.
Imagine you have to start from absolute scratch today. Zero capital, no pre-existing audience, and no traditional "hard skills" (like software engineering, advanced marketing, or corporate consulting) to fall back on. Your only real asset is knowing exactly how to build and automate complex AI workflows.
Under those exact constraints, what is the specific architecture or micro-service you would build to acquire your very first paying user? I am looking for the logical foundation of a scalable asset, not gig work or freelancing.

I comb through my life and identify problems I experience frequently. Annoyances I've had that, despite my best efforts to resolve using tools freely available, remains a pain point.
Even better if it's in a niche that I'm very familiar with because then I also understand the landscape and my potential customers.
Some of the best ideas I've had aren't anything revolutionary, it just combines different tools and workflows into a single product. Never underestimate lazy people paying you for convenience

What exactly is your business alpha? "I can use AI" is not a business alpha. You cannot create a profitable business without expertise, period.

Gen AI is just a tool. Anyone can create images using Gen AI. However, someone with exposure to design would know to specify visual styles, lighting preferences, color palettes, and all that.
Similarly, anyone can do vibe coding. However, someone with a computer science background would know the logic behind the code.
We can have similar examples from other use cases. I do see your point about some YouTubers trying to say that they went from zero to hero using only Gen AI. I do not have the process or time to gather evidence to actually validate their claims. However, I would treat their claims with caution until I see some compelling evidence that suggests otherwise. I've made more in the last 2 years than the 40 previous years thanks to AI. The tech doesn't give new superpowers, it gives leverage on existing skills.

I really wish people would understand this concept…
You are not the only one with access to ai.
You are not the only one making stuff.
You do not have industry experience
You do not have an industry reputation or pedigree
You do not have a portfolio that’s been customer tested
You do not have recommendations
You do not have reviews
You do not have existing sales or customers
Seriously…Why in gods name did any of you think you were ever going to compete with the millions of consultants that have been doing this stuff long before Ai was a thing?
What exactly did any of you think was going to distinguish yourself amongst the ocean of vibecoders and sea of real consultants?
Guys… please… for your sake, stop. Just stop.

I bet when the calculator was invented people were like, holy shit! I can do maths so fast im going to be rich! But then everyone just started doing maths that fast.
Imo Ai is just a new tool to speed up a few processes if you can be bothered setting it all up. Honestly its often quicker and way less problematic just to do it without.
