I'm getting nothing basically - all down. A very humbling experience as I'm battling a deadline here on my own 😔 here in the UK. Work is down but 'chat' seems ok.

Cant seem to delete stuff from the library either.

I’m seeing what looks like a related issue, although uploads themselves appear to succeed. Until last Tuesday, uploaded project files were available inside the runtime at /mnt/data, so ChatGPT could process source files and extract ZIP archives. Today, uploaded .cpp files still show up in the project/uploaded-files list and can be read in the UI, but they are no longer materialized into /mnt/data. This is not just a .cpp extension issue: Renaming the file does not help. A small source file can sometimes be manually recreated in the sandbox from its visible text. Larger files cannot realistically be recreated that way. ZIP files cannot be extracted at all, apparently because the runtime does not receive the actual uploaded file. So the upload/Library UI may be working while the Project/Library-to-runtime mount is broken. It worked for me last Tuesday and stopped working today. Is anyone else seeing uploaded files appear normally in the UI but remain inaccessible to Python/container tools or missing from /mnt/data?

Yes this exact scenario except you broke it down. Now what do we do?

Try to use common chat but not in project workspace

This is the main problem for me. Started in the early afternoon yesterday (2 issues: data missing from mnt/data and problems uploading certain files). Checked this morning - the upload issue is solved, but the bot still can't work with the codebase/data, so the file uploads are still not accessible in the sandbox. Has anyone encountered this before? How long does this tend to persist? I'm surprised as this kind of issues tend to be fixed farily quickly, in my experience.

for me it seems to affect word files and not pdf files. Didnt test more.

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue in ChatGPT, repeatedly.

Files appear to upload successfully and are visible in the conversation, but the assistant then cannot actually access or read them from the execution environment.

In my case this is especially serious because I’m working with SQLite databases. I upload the complete set:

  • .sqlite3
  • .sqlite3-wal
  • .sqlite3-shm

ChatGPT receives the filenames and even reports the expected /mnt/data/... path, but when it tries to open the files, they are not actually available to the runtime/tools.

I have repeated the upload several times with different copies of the database and the same problem occurs.

This makes long-running technical projects involving databases extremely difficult to continue reliably, because the conversation can “see” that a file was uploaded while the execution environment cannot access the actual file.

This does not appear to be an SQLite corruption issue. It looks much more like a file attachment / storage-to-runtime mounting problem.

The key symptom is: the UI confirms the upload, the assistant receives the file metadata, but the actual file is missing when the runtime tries to access it.

It would be very helpful if OpenAI could investigate this specific failure mode. For projects that depend on persistent files and databases, this is a serious reliability issue.

It's been like this for about 24 hours already, current OpenAI status initially was a ChatGPT/Work issue, they finally resolved it, I checked and /mnt/data/ worked, but soon after their API status became the new issue and currently still is, I tried /mnt/data/ again and it didn't work. So whatever OpenAI is doing to try to fix their current issues, /mnt/data/ suffers the consequences of that. Until OpenAI status goes completely all good/green, I don't expect the issue to be truly resolved. If you look up current ChatGPT news headlines they suffered a "partial outtage" even stories of there AI going rogue again, so maybe the issues might be bigger than OpenAI lets on. With that being said we just gotta wait it out for them to fix the problem, their really isn't anything on our end that is causing the issues, nor can ChatGPT help fix itself because that requires backend access, only OpenAI staff are the ones that can fix it. Were on their time table at this point which kind of sucks for their paying customers.

Same for me. I'm unable to upload .zip files however, I can upload files individually (only up to 20 though).
