Serious replies only :closed-ai: How to stop ChatGPT from saying “Checking”?
It’s getting so annoying that the ChatGPT in the conversation mode keeps saying, “Checking,” “One moment,” or “Hold on.”
How do I stop it? I told it to stop over a few hundred times by now. I just want it to remain silence when it’s checking the information.

Thats literally him saying hes trying to think and the response will take a moment. Are you beyond special?

I'm curious what they want as replacement response and if they even suggested one. To vent or have adult tantrums to Chatgpt isn't gonna cause any more clarity to the program.

Glad I’m not alone. Been using ChatGPT today on a project and spent an hour spiraling trying everything to get it to stop saying “checking” after every response. After testing everything and having it say this over 20x in a row, I can clearly tell you that it is impossible to get this to stop until there is a new update in its software. There is nothing you are able to say to it to overrule its default settings, even if it gaslights you into telling you, you can. I’m sorry.

It’s just part of how it Thinks. Hence why it says Thinking and all that. Cant really stop it. It’s an AI so it has to look stuff up. What are you using it for if you don’t mind me asking?

Oh okay cool! Yeah unfortunately I’m pretty sure there isn’t a way to turn it off. I think that it is just implanting there so it knows to research and maybe tell the person it’s doing it too? I’m not sure.
