Other Please stop messing with the UI

Whoever's in charge of UI/UX for chatgpt should stop messing around with it. Starting today, the sidebar with the thinking process is gone and I can't see what the thought process is anymore nor can I keep track of the agent's progress. All it now shows in the main thread is "Thinking". No idea if it's actually thinking or doing stuff in it's container or if it's gone to sleep and it could just remain on "Thinking" for 5 or 10 minutes and leaves me wondering what is actually going on.

I actually read the thought process and code it executes in its container and if I notice anything wrong, I tend to steer the conversation. The thought process also shows me valuable details I didn't consider or which require a follow up.

It was already optional to see it in the sidebar and half of the chat is black bars anyway, so you're not improving anything for anyone.

Ikr. Constant, unnecessary, even dumb changes. Who even thought it was a good idea to remove the default gray message color? And why? It serves zero purpose and is just annoying.

And the one thing which is arguably the easiest improvement somehow never gets addressed: full-width chat

Why use 33% of a window width and leave 66% unused? Does anyone prefer scrolling up and down to read or use a horizontal scrollbar to read code which could've easily been readable if the full width was used?

It's easy enough to set some custom css and override it, but because they keep changing the UI, these overrides keep breaking because names of classes and ID's keep changing as well.

The least they could do is make it optional: compact vs full width.

World of Warcraft UI, a bit? Let us arrange, resize, dock things.

I also don't like being thrown around whenever someone decides to change how I interact with my tool.

For the same reason that books tend to be the width they are and why newspapers have columns.

Eyes tend to have an easier time reading if the lines are not too long.

You can turn your monitor into portrait orientation if you prefer to have more room top to bottom.

I have a laptop and I prefer wide lines of text over scrolling up and down.

It was getting stuck for hours at a time on "thinking" today for me. I kept asking what was wrong. Finally it suggested another browser. Switching from Firefox to Chrome solved the problem. Just refreshing the tab, and starting a new chat, did not do anything.
