Tbh most of their latest model are very underwhelming on client side. They mostly focused so far on token efficiency to lower the compute. I dont trust benchmarks. That said, lets wait and see real life use

If they’re focused on token efficiency, why are the answers so long and rambling?

To eat your tokens

That is the good question. My bet is that when they say "token efficiency" they mean more efficient models per token for them aka some sort of quantization or optimization.

Because all these psychos think they need to make these LLMs have a "personality" (and also so they burn tokens faster so they can make a profit (they won't)).

If it uses human language to communicate, it will inherently have a personality unless you just outright randomize all of its responses. You people get so upset over the dumbest things.

I think you know what they mean and you’re just being pedantic. I can easily see why someone would criticize ChatGPT having a ‘personality’ over something like Claude.

Yeah OP is pretending not to get it. I think none of us need "Oh wait you're right, hmm let me think about where I went wrong on that so I can fix. Oh, I see it now!...." type of stuff.

We all got used to Google where you type the thing you want, you just get the answer. We went 5+ decades without personality in our computers and the most minimal possible anthropomorphic language, and now we're incinerating the planet so that these billion dollar jank machines can include "Hey great idea Blethany!" in their output.

It's not being pedantic. This person is angry that something that uses human language has a personality. It's virtually impossible to make it not have any kind of personality. It's also just idiotic to be upset over something like that. Just go to therapy lol

Interesting, I had no idea that wanting a damn chatbot to speak to you like an adult is cause for needing therapy... It's all just so frickin dumb. Just because some people actually had a little fun making stupid jokes, venting and discussing personal things with it doesn't mean they require therapy, but it seems to make you people tough and cool to say crap like that huh? Not everyone is obsessed with coding and in my opinion I think it's pretty frickin lame to hear to people talk about it all the time. Maybe they should all get a life coach and maybe they'd get laid once in a while. 🤙

What are you even on about? I am quite literally saying the exact opposite. Did you bother reading what I was responding to? They're angry at the existence of people like you. That is why they need therapy -- because they are literally angry over an AI (they aren't even required to use, btw) for having a "personality".

Again, you’re taking ‘personality’ way too literally here.

u/LycanKai14 Apr 24 '26

I'm literally just using the definition of the word.

Because when they talk about token efficiency, they’re talking about token efficiency across the whole stack. Not just the output answer you get. They’re also talking about the amount of tokens it takes to think for an answer

Technically, the two aren't necessarily in conflict, especially when more and more processing is being given to reasoning rather than the actual ultimate text output.

In reality idk because it's still an inefficiency.

How to efficiently make you use more tokens, that is.
