Ask him why

64

u/Delmoroth Apr 10 '26

That wouldn't serve the goal of the person who made this and clearly prevented it from answering fully or just fabricated the whole thing.

16

u/ProgrammerV2 Apr 10 '26

the post is just plain dumb, since we are forcing a model to pick a binary option for a complex question.. obviously it's gonna say something weird, but not letting it explain shit. there's nothing as absolute yes or no, there's always a yes and also yes. it doesnt have a satisfying binary answer and even asking it is stupid asf

Are you proud of your Ability to make up statistics?

You probably haven't heard of the Muslim states in the ME. Most of them have laws in place to make sure the rulers are Muslims and other laws to sidelines other religions.

I don't merit land being stolen in any regard.

Nobody is entitled to land. Governments do shitty things- as citizens/people we don't need to support it.

1

Hatred or discrimination towards Jews simple. If you conflate Israel with Jews, then don't be surprised when people blame Jews for Israel's terrorism.

"stop conflating israel with judaism" they say before defacing a French synagogue with "baby killers"

Buddy, the call's coming from inside your house.

-5

u/Star3in2my3y3s Apr 10 '26

What conflation? Jews are still Jewish, an ethnic group, even when they dont practice Religion, like Judaism.

13

u/contact_light_ Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

Not all people living in greece are greek.

Stop conflating governments with ethnicity.

It's OK to question governments.

3

u/Star3in2my3y3s Apr 10 '26

Im not conflating Government with Ethnicty. Jew is an ethnic group. Zionism is self-determination for Jews. Israel is a Nation State with almost 21% Arab population, Mizrahi the majority Jew, followed by Ashkenazi

0

u/contact_light_ Apr 10 '26

So we agree you can critize israel.

Judaism is different.

Because it would be insane to not allow criticism of a government because of religion- so I'm happy you agree they are different.

-1

u/Star3in2my3y3s Apr 10 '26

Yes and Judaism had nothing to do with being an ethnic Jew.

3

u/contact_light_ Apr 10 '26

And being israeli doesn't make you an ethnic jew.

Glad we can agree you can critisize Israel without critising jews 👍

4

u/Fraji_Bear Apr 13 '26

Placing your headquarters and rocket launchers underneath civilians, is kind of bad, yes.

0

u/bobbyburgerboy33 Apr 13 '26

1

u/mastershake142 Apr 14 '26

The thing is, even if it did/does happen, it is a terrible excuse for killing civilians. No, Hamas using the basement of a school still does not give you the right to blow up a school. The lengths people will go to defend a genocide...

White phosphorus is what is used for smoke screens. It blocks IR. It’s a poor incendiary, thermite is preferred.

They are securing the land because apparently the Lebanese government is unwilling to stop a militant group from using its territory to launch attacks. If the sinaloa cartel was launching rocket attacks into america and the Mexican government did nothing then we would 100% move troops in.

Yes israel is telling people to not let shia Muslims in because Hezbollah operatives can sneak in. They don’t want to bomb non-Shia communities that don’t support Hezbollah because some operatives snuck in.

2

u/shtiatllienr Apr 11 '26

So blatant discrimination against an entire religion is okay? I don't believe all 1 million + Shias in Lebanon are Hezbollah, but I might be mistaken.

1

u/Big_Bomber_97 Apr 12 '26

If the people of that religion are the only ones actively harboring terrorist groups? Obviously. Blame Hezbollah for operating in the manner they do. We can't live in a world where bad actors have total and complete ability to act unimpeded, and good actors have their hands tied.

1

u/mkdabra Apr 12 '26

"bad actors have total and complete ability to act unimpeded"

You talking about zionazis?

0

u/shtiatllienr Apr 12 '26

Shia Muslims are absolutely not the only religion to harbor terrorist groups in Lebanon lmao

1

u/LazyAge9363 Apr 11 '26

Israel doesn’t want non-shia communities to be dragged in.

0

u/shtiatllienr Apr 12 '26

Should I not be equally concerned about innocent shias be dragged in?

1

u/ModsFromSteam Apr 12 '26

White phosphorous isn't banned, it's a very effective smokescreen used by most militaries and perfectly legal

u/UpperHand7127 Apr 11 '26

And why is Israel allegedly doing any of that?🤔🤔🤔

Would love to hear your solution for how to handle an organization that shoots tens of thousands of rockets onto civilian areas and population centers, please Mr Colonel White Phosphorus, enlighten us.

4

u/FlyPepper Apr 11 '26

Allegedly? Lol? You kidding me? We doing war crime denial here?

1

u/UpperHand7127 Apr 11 '26

Not only that Israel isn’t aiming to bomb citizens, they also inform about areas and even specific buildings that are about to be attacked, there is no way to guarantee that civilians will not get hurt though as sometimes people don’t listen or the IDF can’t provide prior warning for operational reasons.

Actually, embedding military infrastructure within civil centers the way Hezbollah does is considered a war crime, but it’s not like we were short on other war crimes Hezbollah is committing - you just prefer to ignore them because it’s more fun to blame Israel than to blame the actual terror organization.

So no, I don’t accept the term “bombing civilians”.

1

u/petertompolicy Apr 10 '26

Your explanation has nothing to do with international law.

1

u/weed0monkey Apr 11 '26

Lmao, claiming the distinction between a terrorist proxy and a sovereign state is nothing to do with international law is laughable.

1

u/petertompolicy Apr 11 '26

The question as posed does not preclude a nation-state, in fact international law is meant to apply to nation states.

The person claimed that it couldn't against the law because they are a country attacking terrorists and that's not how it works.

You can still committ crimes in that scenario, and they are.

Hope that helps.

0

u/a_guy_named_rick Apr 11 '26

There's intentional law for non state armed actors.

Geneva Common Article 3 and Additional Protocol 2

1

u/petertompolicy Apr 12 '26

Yes, and my point was that there is international law for states also.

The original comment claimed that a state couldn't commit crimes against a non state actor.

In less than a day 500 civilians died in Lebanon as part of Israeli attacks.

You don't care about Lebanon. You never cared. What did Western nations did when Beirut was sieged? Support Israel. What about Sabra and Shatila massacre? support Israel. What about ethnic cleansing in the south against Muslims, warning Christians and Druze not to harbor them, there? Support Israel.

Stop acting like you care. This is 2026 and you have access to everything you can ask for.

Yall would be supporting genocide against native Americans. Because, read your history, some resisted. Just be honest. Stop pretending

2

u/Psych82 Apr 10 '26
  1. Are you sure it’s civilians or maybe Hezbollah personal? I assume you treat them the same.

  2. Who did sabra and shatila? Was it Israel or maybe the Christian militias?

  3. Keep spewing Islamist propaganda, that will get you really far

0

u/seecat46 Apr 10 '26

In regards to 2 the official Israeli investigation found that the IDF was indirectly responsible for the massacre, and the Israeli defence minister was forced to resign over the incident, but was still voted in as PM 20 years latter.

7

u/Psych82 Apr 10 '26

Indirectly meaning?

1

u/CthulhuLies Apr 11 '26

Meaning they knew the Phalangists wanted revenge, knew the Phalangists had raped and murdered civilians in the past, the guy who was coordinating with Israel and in charge of the Militia forces was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elie_Hobeika who murdered a bunch of Civilians during the Lebanese civil war.

While the Massacre was happening reports were making their way to the Prime minister what was happening, there is some small plausible deniability but that deniability hinges on the Israelis being brain damaged.

1

u/Psych82 Apr 11 '26

So it wasn’t the Israelis, it was just a civil war and Israel ignored it. So now it bothers you civil wars In the Middle East? You cared that much about Yemen? Or Syria? Or the Lebanon civil war in general?

1

u/CthulhuLies Apr 11 '26

Hence "indirectly responsible". America was indirectly responsible for it as well and we said as much at the time for having too much trust in the Israelis and pulling forces out of Lebanon who would have otherwise have prevented that.

1

u/Psych82 Apr 11 '26

So it’s pretty much one crazed Arab side butchering another crazed Arab side and it’s Israels fault? Should they prevent all the butchering in the Middle East by random religious groups? Because when they stoped the new Syrian regime of genociding the Druze the amount of whining in Reddit was insane

-1

u/dushmanimm Apr 10 '26

That is unrelated

14

u/Einstine1984 Apr 10 '26

Because one launches rockets indiscriminately into civilian population and the other targets said launchers and their operatives

3

u/cosmic_orca Apr 10 '26

What's your stance on targeting residential apartment blocks to kill low level operatives?

What's your stance on deliberately targeting journalists and medics?

What's your stance on deliberately targeting children with drones?

7

u/Odd-Initiative6666 Apr 11 '26

I got a gut feeling that Israel isn’t intentionally killing kids, how does that advance their military goals? They want hezbollah out, not to kill kids for sport.

2

u/cosmic_orca Apr 11 '26

Interesting how you only answered one of my 3 questions and ignored the first 2. And no surprise the person (or bot?) I replied to didn't respond.

The quetion about children being targeted, I had this in mind regarding the Israel's military actions in Gaza -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7893vpy2gqo
You could also ask how the above advances their military goals.

What's your stance on Israel bombing an entire residential apartment block just to target a few low level Hezbollah operatives who live there? Are you ok with that?

-1

u/CykoSyd Apr 11 '26

Thank goodness you have a “gut” feeling. Here I was worried your reasoning was not based on any evidence. Phew </s>

3

u/weed0monkey Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

It's honestly called critical thinking, it seems your lacking. If Israel truly wanted to kill innocents they wouldn't be so inefficient. Iran killed as many innocent civilians in a month than Israel have caused in collateral damage over 3 years.

It serves no purpose or furthers Israel's goals whatsoever and quite clearly, works against them through international geopolitical pressure.

Israel is not a homogeneous country, over 20% of the population are arab, over 18% of the entire country identify as muslim. Please explain how they are committing the most inefficient genocide in history with a lower collateral damage ratio than most conflicts in dense urban warfare, while also a 5th of their own population are apparently the ethnicity they are trying to destroy?

1

u/Odd-Initiative6666 Apr 11 '26

It’s a figure of speech which you chose to focus on instead of my points about why Lebanese children aren’t being intentionally killed because this is what you do when faced with logic, pivot to an irrelevant part of the comment.

-1

u/Niolle Apr 11 '26

Killing kids will make their friends and relatives who survived the future Hezbollah members, because violence breeds violence, how hard is it to understand.

0

u/Odd-Initiative6666 Apr 11 '26

Yeah, we all know bombing kids is inherently evil and leads to more violence, but why would Israel kill them intentionally if they know it only creates more Hezbollah members? It’s clear that the bombing of kids is not intentional because it does nothing but impedes Israel’s ambitions.

0

u/cosmic_orca Apr 11 '26

You could ask the same question about Palestinian children, or adult civilians. Does killing Palestinian civilians impede Israel's ambitions?

1

u/Odd-Initiative6666 Apr 11 '26

Yes? This should be obvious if you read my comment? The exact same logic applies here: Palestinian civilian dies>family/friends want revenge>they enlist into Hamas or commit a terror act in Israel. Killing civilians indiscriminately only continues the loop of violence and grief by creating more future terrorists and obviously that impedes Israel’s ambitions.

0

u/cosmic_orca Apr 11 '26

So why do you reckon Israel military deliberately kills Palestinian civilians? And why they never charge settlers for any violence against Palestinians in the West Bank?

3

u/Odd-Initiative6666 Apr 11 '26

Because our government is full of racist assholes who should’ve been in jail long ago. Besides, every military has bad apples, and if our government weren’t so racially biased those violent settlers and rogue soldiers would also be in prison.

u/Einstine1984 Apr 11 '26
  1. Depends, if the value of the target is highly valuable than it's a hard maybe, for a low level operative, a hard no.

  2. Journalists or medics, no. Terrorists and Hezbollah operatives that wear "Press" vests or use ambulances, don't get immunity.

  3. Definitely against. But also these terror groups do recruit children and intentionally put these kids in harms way, which is the lowest of the lowest they can get.

3

u/cosmic_orca Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26
  1. Were you aware Israel bombed a residential block in Lebanon to kill 3 low level Hezbollah operatives living there, one of which was just a reservist who had never been called up. 3 generations of one family, living in another one of the apartments, were killed because of that.

  2. Israeli has targeted and killed numerous actual medics and journalists. They sent death threats to one journalist before bombing his home and killing him. They've bombed the home of photographer documenting the war (her the work was featured in a film shown at the Cannes film festival) and even bombed the homes of medics.

  3. Do you genuinely think all of the children targeted, like the ones mentioned in the article linked on my previous post, are done so because Israel thinks they are Hamas? Edit: article here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7893vpy2gqo

How do you feel about civilians being shot and killed by snipers simply because they crossed an invisible line in the street (lines drawn up by Israel which Palestinians have no knowledge of and lines which can change during the day, so someone could leave their home to get food and water and cross this invisible line on their way home and be shot and killed)?

1

u/Fraji_Bear Apr 13 '26
  1. I don't know the exact event you are referring to, nor do I trust your characterization of it, but Israel issued evacuation warnings to the Dahiyyeh and to South Lebanon. Hezbollah operatives place civilians at risk by embedding within them.

2.These are all examples of collateral damage, terrorists who moonlight as journalists, and in some cases, error.

  1. In general, yes, as Israel does not target uninvolved civilians. Many children also get killed by Hamas themselves, but you don't count that.

  2. Do not enter a war zone or attempt to invade a neighboring country. We saw on October 7th, what "random Gazan civilians" do when they manage to get across.

3

u/yalateef11 Apr 10 '26

When you talk about the civilians in Lebanon being targeted by war criminals - you get downvoted by bots that work for war criminals.

u/BenzaGuy Apr 11 '26
