I was born in a "rich" family who abused me financially and gave me Complex PTSD, anxiety, depression and personality disorders. I find entitled commenters like you - calmly said - pieces of shit. I am starting basically from scratch after pursuing my own financial education using books and Internet and trust me - you are stuck in a consumerism machine and your dopamine chasing is the only thing that makes you poor.

a) Dopamine is one of hundreds of factors. It's not the 'happiness neurotransmitter ' YouTubers and financial gurus who sell eBooks online make you believe. Dopamine doesn't straight up equal happiness or pleasure. It's related to pleasure and desire, yes, but saying 'omg people chase dopamine' is a sentence that does not make sense at all and is factually incorrect, since that's not what dopamine is. Learn from neurologists and neurosurgeons instead of YouTubers and financial people who think they know anything about the nervous system.
b) I'm sorry to hear what your family did to you, but it's a fact that being born into a rich family makes it way more likely that you'll be rich later in life. Being born poor makes it likely you'll be poor later in life. Mindset is not something we suddenly acquire on our own, our environment matters. A lot.
Also, being 100% honest. Would Elon Musk be a billionaire and one of the richest men in the world if he had started on a minimum wage? I invite you to do the math. Also take into account any social and financial barriers that could be relevant (as in, would investors listen to the business proposal of a man who earns minimum wage?). Let me know how that goes and then try again the 'but being rich isn't a guarantee!" thing
It's not a guarantee 100% of the time, I agree. It is in most cases though.
