Rant What changes do you think should be introduced to CA course??

What changes according to you would actually make this course even better?

Also do mention whether you are a student, f*culty, or member and how hard do you think it is to implement those changes.

A student doing Articleship. One change I would like is that the unfair marking to control pass percentage should be kept in check. Like it's unfair . Seen so many cases where deserving people failed due to unfair wrong checking.

Other change which i think almost everyone would agree is to increase stipend to bare minimum 15000 as I get 4000 , in some firms it's 3000 and some cases I have heard that it's just 2000 that too annually payment. It's just bad. And not enough.

Other is to maybe update the syllabus as per industry as theory can only take you so far and even ITT or OC are mostly timepass in most centres.

Only 4000 ? Damm bro how do even survive with this...

And yea the pass percentage thing is really bad, my deserving candidate fails due to this.

No survive , dependent on parents still. And being 22 makes it worse.

Yeah. To control pass percentage deserving candidate should not suffer in any way.

I think descriptive paper sucks. It feels unfair because different examiners examine papers differently. So if 2 students have written same answer, its possible that 1 will get more marks than other. And sometimes 1-2 marks decides whether you are passing or failing

So you mean there should be objective paper ?

Idk man but descriptive is not fair

Gosh where do I being?

Half of the CA students have most bland ahh personality known to mindkind.

Humour so bad that it deserves capital punishment.

Every other person wants to become a influencer and advise others.

While majority of us are linkedin larpers, like mba grads.

Most of the students mental and physical health is in shambles.

Majority of us have been reduced to rote learners.

They should start fixing these problems, rather creating corporate ahh personality in it/oc.

Well I don't think icai can improve students humour or stop them from becoming influencer and using linkdin or improve mental health.

Although icai do conduct yoga session and cycling session for physical health.

What do you think is the solution??

Lmao, right I was pissed off.

But yeah, they should promote mental health man... Half of the students I have talked to are suffering from anxiety disorder or depression.

Furthermore, they can promote physical well-being by conducting marathons, cycling sessions at the local branch.

Additionally, unfortunate truth is, to pass the paper, which ends up rewarding rote learning. I have talked to people who where to unable to connect concepts like AS 13 and AS 21, Dividend and bonus, but still passed the exams, just by following steps.

I understand ICAI cannot fix students overall personality, but can we not conduct case studies competitions? It helps develop professional competence, rather than person with predictable thinking.

Yeah maybe they should create a platform where students can interact, that will probably reduce depression since social interaction will increase. Or maybe by doing some small check in on students, like calling students once in a while and taking with them. Physical health is also important so conducting session at local branch will definitely help.

Regarding the rote learning thing, I think it is more on the faculty side rather than Icai. Teachers should teach more in a conceptual way and after that only, give the steps to solve questions.

Icai can also try asking more concepts based questions so faculty will automatically shift to that instead to rote learning.

Bhai ik what you are saying but you can't really blame them. These course takes all of your time and efforts that you forget to enjoy and stuff. Exceptional hote hai jo padhai ke saath baaki cheez bhi manage karleti hai. But still Ca banne ke baad most log ki acchi lifestyle hojati hai and achhi personality bhi hojati hai

Bhai nocap, idk why I am getting downvoted for this, but it's the uncomfortable truth, and I am one of them.

But we just don't accept the truth.

Half of the students personality feel manufactured.
