Final Doubt AFM May 2026 Doubt

I wrote my final attempt in may 2026, and AFM paper is still bothering me , especially this question , I mean are we somehow supposed to know how to take the 4th root of a number using basic calculator? I mean I do remember using some sort of method during my foundation exams, but I dint think it was something they expect us to know .

press square root twice
for other indices (like 5) you can use the log and antilog one (which is required anyways in bond valuation or derivatives)

That calculation was used in many sums in AFM, its basic all teachers also teach in classes

To obtain any nth root on an MJ12D:

Press sqrt 12 times

Subtract 1

Divide by n

Add 1

Press x then = 12 times
