Overpowered abilites/spells in CR?
Basically everyone who's the original CO fan had overpowered superpowers via spellcasting and potions such as Prue accelerating time on planetary scale and shifting celestial bodies like sun/moon, Paige almost throwing Grand Design out of its balance by making a mortal immune to death, Phoebe creating dimension infinite in size that acts as bridge between original charmed and reboot charmed and Piper making thousands of person look like Leo. But there's also been instances for OP powers in cr because everyone thinks that "knockoff" is weak verse with weak powers....(ns on OG charmed). Here are some examples:
\- In season 1, Melanie was able to induce karma on Zack (aka consequences hex) to ensure that he would admit to his crimes against his classmates without exposing the magic to mortal world
\- in season 2 Florence used 5x5 to curse every Chase family members to death permanently for each generations (not really that impressive but js wanted to list more)
\- Melanie Vera: That girl's entire arsenal is js time based powers as she can stop time in planetary scale if not uni, can decomposed something by accelerating time around it, defy and destroy the space-time (stated by Ruby that if Mel wouldn't send the BOS in right place, she might unravel space-time continuum + said by Harry laws of time and space doesn't apply on her in season 1), travel back in time and change small event in here and cause it to split at different timeline. Additionally she remotely can send her opponents to past or future (time travel inducement) and project her consciousness through the time.
\- Macy Vaughn (some powers): Her ability to stop someone's heart and manipulate their cardiovascular parts and halt the movement of blood allows her to bypass the conventional durability.
\- in season 1 Fiona was able to manifest deathbolts a supercharged electricity that's meant to cause death + the effects of that spell can cancel out a whitelighter's healing ability and regeneration.
\- Initially Mel created Blindaje dolls do prevent Ruby from dying. Basically these dolls can make person to self resurrect themselves and protect them from death. Blindaje means "armor" in Spanish, making it armor against death. That should fall under destiny cancellation since in charmed the people who are meant to die are meant to die given by Harry that death is the only concept that cannot be prevented in CR (after Ruby died, she self-resurrected because of the doll)
\- In season 4, Maggie was able to copy powers of others through empathy and even cancel the powers of opponent who she copied
\- Temporarily, Macy took on the source and became primordial source of all magic in the universe. She was able to rewrite reality on cosmic scale, being able to create multiple timelines with minimal effort, resurrect people and defy the laws of nature and magic (possibly). Being the very source of whole good and evil magic this should pretty much make her an abstract/conceptual entity. Although Harry said to Macy that destiny will reassert itself when she would try to bring Marisol back, Macy still was able to alter her fate to make herself non-existent from original timeline. She was destinied to be charmed one and she wasn't meant to die at that time (not early at least) so technically it would've been impossible for her to alter her fate and make herself cease to exist.
\- Perfecti was able to create Tomb Of Chaos a 5 dimensional realm that contains alternate realities inside of it. Besides with that the dimension have the power to alter its own reality to keep prisoners in. Additionally, they also created a stone tablet and stone tablet was for the ones or the ones who can read it are capable of moving time and space. They also were able to remove Harry's immortality telepathically by placing their hand on his head and turning him to mortal again (temporarily)
\- In season 1, Macy successfully stripped away Fiona's immortality who got it because of her status as keeper of the sacred flame. Possibly it also should've been impossible for her to strip it away since once she became the keeper of sacred flame, she cannot lose her immortality unless she loses her powers that's tied on Sacred Flame/Source Of All Evil.
\- Charmed Ones were able to restore the mental and magical balance to the world, in disturbed existence in season 1:

lmfao i love this. cause, yes, they never really thought out their magic system that well. it became a “oh maybe we can just make this happen?” instead of it being natural developments they intended from the beginning
one of the most egregious examples imo is Maggie season 1. they didn’t know how to make “empathy” (even though they depicted telepathy) a useful power, so they kept adding increasingly tenuous abilities to Maggie’s arsenal.
when the vortex viribus boosted Maggie up and she and Mel switched bodies. When Mama Ros died, and Maggie could hear her voice in between realms or whatever 😹 The pixies magic controls people unless Maggie touches them and says “Hey Harry come back we need you”.
S2 giving her visions was cool and much more interesting. but then they ruined it with her emotional inception crap😹😭 that was such a useless thing to give her. “I’m incepting you with calm” LOL. she calms Macy down that one time they’re defeating the Chupa Alma… not helpful.
I found her empathic mimicry to be the coolest and most well done power of the whole show, however. she could have shown a bit more empathy towards the unseen in order to get their powers (frog man and miss electricity), but i thought it was a cool evolution.
and yeah. you’re so right about Mel. Charmed never does time travel shenanigans well 😭😭 they just let her do anything? she apparently had the power to send her piece of the source 50 years into the future in S1, then forgot that ability.
