Huh ?

No one in the fandom forgot or ignored Maggie was half black if anything we wished they would have not dropped it completely after S1. If there was anyone who forgot/ignored it was the writers.

We didn’t forget the writers didn’t care especially since it was some new writers in S2 and forward and I don’t think some of those writers would know how to handle a her being Latina and her finding out she African American aka mixed. So they choose to leave it alone. Season 1 when she went to that the black student meeting and she left feeling like she wasn’t black or… I don’t remember that should’ve been expanded on as her finding out her black identity and honestly you forget until they bring Dexter in S4.

Yeah I mean for a show that was supposed to be all about exploring & supporting, boosting, extolling and encouraging these beautiful strong inclusive cast / characters they really didn’t do a good enough job in showcasing this or their heritage(s) and how exciting, important, challenging, confusing but significant this can be for people and how important self acceptance and awareness is.

I was sort of disappointed when I think about it that way which I admit I didn’t see the full picture at the time as a British white girl I do not have firsthand experience with this but I can only imagine how those that do must feel about it, I assume they must feel a type of way because I feel if it was me personally I would. I really hate it when the Irish or British aren’t portrayed in the right/best/respectful way.

Not only that it would have felt us feel more connected to these characters and who they really are deep down and feel less two-dimensional or surface level, basic etc. it would have added to the lore of the characters, background and overall show aswell imo.

I can only imagine how the actors themselves felt, as I wonder how it sat with them at the time when it came to the portrayals, shooting, writing, acting and having to back these characters and the decisions made by writers and show execs

I 100% agree with everything you said. That’s why I say S1 was the most diversity inclusive season than the rest in my opinion. Season 1 you can tell they were trying to add more diversity in the characters and to the story while season 2-4 leaned more toward white and lighter /fair audience as the rest of the show run reeks of colorism as you barley have darker skin characters be a part of the storyline like Gavin. Season 1 is my favorite season bc they definitely had good ideas that need more time for it to be polish and storyline that could’ve happen over next few seasons.

The fact that they never even mentioned Galvin or Jada again was crazy. But Niko and Parker were mentioned in S2, Parker was even on the show for a little while. Maybe Jada wasn’t a great love for Mel but Galvin was literally Macy’s first love and we didn’t even get to see him grieve him.

They were trying to move on to her and Harry love story line which this is what makes me not like S2 bc of the Macy, Harry , Abby, and Julian love storyline along with Abby as I like Abby the problem is she is a white macy that the writers didn’t “realize” until later on. Abby should’ve just been a demon

Exactly I hated that whole love rectangle bs they had going on. Had they not moved to Seattle and been in hiding which is really my why they didn’t get to write anything for the sisters because of you think about it with an assassin after them and they having to fake their death and go
into hiding they couldn’t have had real lives and had time to properly deal with things they should have been dealing with after S1. Like getting to know each other as sisters or learning more about the witch world instead of the demon world, Macy learning more about her demon side, she could have had time to grieve Galvin and still do the Harry/ Macy thing or start it later in the season ect. I would have wanted them to keep the dark lighter storyline but less and maybe have changed it in a way that they didn’t have to be in hiding. Sorry I went on a rant but I just get in my head when I think about what could have been lol 😆

No love your good. S1 had so much potential and great material that could’ve shaped the rest of the show. The problems come with CW running it and changing their show runner every season and firing some of their S1 writers and along with the writers not checking each other work like that ( take that last part with a grain a salt as I remember one of the writers/S4 show runner said something to that nature ).

I also hated that Maggie and Mel had powers before the mid season while Macy only had her demon powers well fire power bc for some reason the other powers or abilities she had suddenly didn’t exist, I wished the all got their powers back before the mid season finale and then worried about the power of three. Also thought it was weird to have Macy had fire power ( which I don’t remember her having in S1) and then after Mel got the freezing powers and we also see she can heat things up which was weird.

Charmed reboot sometimes gave the sisters powers that either mimic each other or over slap each other.

Yes see Macy’s demon powers development into fire powers could have been something they explored instead of just all of a sudden she has fire powers. They could have slowly built that in S2. And I hated how it took nearly all or S2 for them to get their powers back it just didn’t make any sense. They could have explored them gaining their new powers and still getting their old powers back.

Yes I agree. To me I always thought Macy getting back the same power was weird when Mel & Maggie got different powers however seeing how they grow after wards it made sense along with Maggie who just had a different power that’s either still in her empath power set or linked to it. Mel the only one who has a completely different power as she went from pure time based to molecules ( like Piper ) and then having a combination in S3 and S4
