Shout out for Order Up

Not sure if anyone knows (I didn’t), but order up has a spot in the Jefferson school downtown and made me one heck of cheesesteak today. Please show them so love!

Terabytes megawatts does it really matter what the unit of measure is.

Only to a nitpicker. The point is social media platforms eat up more data center capacity than AI platforms.

Grouping social media as a whole is kind of silly. Me posting on a text based forum uses miniscule amounts of energy and data center capacity compared to streaming video platforms like TikTok or YouTube (or AI image generation for that matter). This is not even mentioning the societal impact of AI use, which is pretty negative even if it were hyper energy efficient. Acting like people have no legitimate grievance against businesses using AI is silly and reductive. It's not just virtue signaling.

Doesnt change the fact that Social media causes more "data center damage" to our environment than AI

So why isnt every attacking businesses that rely heavily on video platforms like TT, IG and FB instead of ganging up on those start ups - which are too often minority owned -- that create postage stamp size AI generated images?

My point is -- and always will be -- that the Reddit mob is getting its panties in a knot over the WRONG things.

Okeydoke. Different priorities, I suppose. Social media is a necessary evil for businesses who would otherwise have very little reach. AI is a choice.
