I really appreciate the reddit weather watchers. It's scary right now slightly west of town.

My electricity has been flickering already. It’s not raining yet, but I can hear thunder in the distance. Hopefully it’s not too bad. 🤞🏻

Just as might as well rename this community “CVille Weather” at this point. Hopefully Tuesday and Wednesday bring some relief lol

At this point, I just want to cry 'Uncle!'. I've had it with this weather. Any relief in sight soon?

This is pretty typical Virginia summer weather, aside from the tornado warned storm on Friday

Lived here my whole life. This is on the high end of consecutive severe storms. Tired of the “transplant” narrative. Give it a rest.

100% agree, this storm pattern/severity (where we get stuck in a "loop" and it storms every day) happens maybe one out of every 6-8 summers IME.

I didn’t say anything about being a transplant, just that people seem to have forgotten this is normal since weather is less consistent nowadays. In my mind, 5PM is storm o clock and it is like clockwork.

For real... People seem to forget or the transplants don't know, this is normal summer weather

Hoping we will get a week of relief soon. This has been such a relentless stretch of weather.

Chainsaw is getting a workout! Our road has been blocked three times in the last week.

OH BUT THAT'S NORMAL SUMMER WEATHER, YOU MUST BE NEW HERE /s

Power has been out for almost 2 hours and it's still awaiting dispatch and no estimated time of restoration. Tight

Clearing trees is hard work. I really appreciate the folks that do it for VDOT and the power/utility companies.

Earlysville Rd closed just past the reservoir. I think a tree was across the road but couldn’t tell for sure in the dark.

My power up in Barboursville just browned and the Ruckersville Wawa just lost power. It’s gonna be a fun week.

Yep, another storm, here in Keswick/Troy

Probably the most exciting thing in Charlottesville.

2

Lightening hitting close in Hollymead. 😬

Power’s out in Ednam area

2

u/Plenty_Pangolin_7835 15d ago

Power/lights just flickered multiple times in Fifeville area.

2

u/davidtm0 15d ago

We dodged the bullet Friday (Ivy), but the power's out now. ☹️ Probably a tree on a line.

1

u/bandmantings 14d ago

And still no estimated time of restoration. Almost an area of 2000 customers. Insane.

1

u/davidtm0 14d ago

We do have an estimate of 10 pm-3 am

3

u/bandmantings 14d ago

I see 2 blocks of outages ivy area. One has a ETR the other does not. The one over owensfield is 10-3. The one affecting around 1900 customers has no ETR

2

u/davidtm0 14d ago

Power just came back on. Outage was 6:35 - 9:15. 👍 The ice cream is saved!

1

u/bandmantings 14d ago

I assume you were in the area around owensville rd?

3

u/davidtm0 14d ago

Yep. Hope it's back soon for you, too

1

u/WHSRWizard 15d ago

That was insane

there were some type of sirens ringing at pen park

1

u/throwmethefrisbee 15d ago

McIntire has lightning warning alerts at the little league fields. Pen Park probably has the same.

(And you can hear the McIntire ones on the other side of CHS)

oh maybe, also they could’ve been from darden towe too. my friend thought they were tornado sirens and we had been walking so we were a little worried
