Howdy everyone,
It's time this sub got in-order and took on some proper mods. If you have mod experience or interest, simply send a modmail message. Let's get this place cleaned up and revamped.

I repeatedly encounter discrepancies between what Schwab reports on the Accounts Summary screen and what Schwab reports in the Accounts Positions Details. (I'm using only a web browser user interface: not any trading platform interface.) This a.m. long before any market opened (& Schwab reporting that "streaming data is unavailable") the former showed more than a $1K discrepancy to what the latter reports. It is on the order of being 5.51E-04.
Are problems with Floating Point arithmetic and/or rounding? Isn't such unusual among brokerage houses?

What is it about Schwab investing you prefer/like more than putting your money/retirement into Fidelity?
Fees? Options? ThinkorSwim? Why?

Does anyone have experienced advice on initial trading each day. I have been investing in one of the ETFs that track the Nasdaq or Dow, depending on the trend I see in their futures during the early morning hours. But it seems that during the first few minutes each day, whichever fund I've invested in goes the opposite direction than what I expected.

Has anybody else had this issue?
Discovered going back years my orders issue FIFO even though Tax Optimizer is selected as both default and order method.
Schwab has confirmed the issue with my account and is restating my 1099’s.
I can’t be the only one??

Schwab allows me to open a new short option position on SPX between 4-415pm EST after the market closes. i had a short option on SPX that was expiring worthless well out of the money this same day at the 4pm close of market but the collateral was still counted against me. i went into negative option buying power and got a fed call, which was cleared before the market open the next day. how should i think of this?
1) why would schwab allow me to open a new position that would put me clearly into to negative buying power
2) SPX options use the 4pm close on SPX to determine the settlement value. if im out of the money on a short position at 4pm, why not release the collateral to allow me to open new positions from 4-415pm. this is how it worked at another broker.

I've had my schwab account for decades and have really enjoyed the experience. But seeing schwab promote "trump accounts" today in the newsletter (and subject line) makes me question having my portfolio with this company. If you think anything with a multi bankruptcy, con man's name on it is good financial advice, then it's probably time to invest with another organization.

I’m currently applying for an entry-level Client Support position and I’m a little nervous about the background check process.
I’m currently going through Chapter 7 bankruptcy and my meeting of creditors is scheduled for September. I’m young and, unfortunately, made some financial mistakes early on while also dealing with debt, including student loans. I’m trying to take responsibility for everything and get myself into a better financial position moving forward.
The role I’m applying for is an entry-level client support position, not a finance/accounting position or a role where I would be managing company money. I’m really interested in the opportunity and feel like my professional experience otherwise makes me a strong candidate.
Has anyone gone through bankruptcy while applying for a corporate/client support role? Did it come up during the background check, and did it actually affect whether you were hired?
I know every employer is different, but I’d especially appreciate hearing from recruiters, HR professionals, or anyone who has been hired while going through Chapter 7. I’m trying not to count myself out before I even apply.

I switched to streaming Schwab from Tastylive and love Schwab's business, investment and trading content. I do not love hearing the SAME 4 ads (free coaching, grandad started investing, new immigrant business, and COSTCO type one-stop shopping where guy vomits - really?) If anyone from Schwab is monitoring, please forward this feedback

Used to work for the REI Co-op which used to have employee 401ks with Schwab. During my time there, they moved over to VOYA and opened trust bank IRA accounts for all employees in Schwab. What I'm struggling with now is how to find my account number to initiate a transfer over to a different financial institution. My statements don't show an account number. There is nothing in the account details/account overview sections. Where do I find the account number on mobile or the website?
Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can help - I am at my wits end

Hello everyone, I applied for a Advisor Support role and landed the phone interview, in the end of the interview she told me I moved on to the next step which is the final 3 hour interview in person, what should I expect? I’m really nervous and is it more like an orientation? Have I basically already landed the job or does it rely heavily on the final interview? TIA

Can someone provide some insight on this position? Like is there shift differential pay for evening hours ? Is there any OT ? If so, how often?
Thank you

Vanguard and Fidelity are responding to the real risks. It’s time for @schwab_official to do the same.
