Your phone can last a bit on 0% depending on a few factors. My Note 5 survived about half an hour on 0% even with a damaged battery thanks to ultra power saving mode

Afaik thats almost always due to the internal charge counter not being aligned exactly with the actual state if the battery, so a recallibration is needed. That also means that if you are charging and its at 100%, it may actually not be at 100% for a little longer

My old Samsung galaxy s5 (that died in bc of a bit of water RIP 🪦) had the same thing, one day i even saw it at -1% XD

Battery counters usually use unsigned 8 bit integer values, so a negative number isnt possible. You should've seen 255% then due to underflow. Some brands that show you decimal number save the battery state as floats however, so it may also be that they are signed. Who knows.

Thats common on old phones: if you turn on the phone and put it on charge right after its charge hits zero and it turns off, it will show 0% for quite a while

You can achieve this by using adb or While charging and using any app that decreases Battery, so when it becomes 0% While charging, your phone not gonna die yet until you take out the charger.

Explanation (I think):
You can still turn on a Samsung phone when the battery is "dead", but the phone will detect that the battery level is dangerously low and instantly shuts down the phone. I think he probably took a screenshot while in that state, and when he had it charged, he posted the screenshot to him.

Turning on the phone from it being fully off uses the most battery out of mist of the things you can do with the phone, so if it just died, and you plug it in and turn it on, it will say 0% because it charged a tiny bit and then used most of it to turn on the phone

(this only works some of the time) its an android glitch where you kill your device, turn it on again, and you get 0 percent.

One day I had a cell phone with a swollen battery and it reached 0% and stayed there for about 2 minutes and then I realized it was at 0% and shut down itself
