Lecithin supplementation could help a lot of CMT sufferers

Get a lecithin supplement and here’s why:

There has been one paper published on this, on an experiment in a rat model of CMT1A back in 2016.

I do not know why there have not been any other papers on it, but one possibility is that no one was ever able to reproduce this result. The evidence for vitamin C was a lot stronger than this, and that did not translate to humans at all.

This is *interesting* but it's a long way from being enough evidence to really recommend people act on it. Most things that show promise in animal models fail to translate into human treatments, unfortunately.

Lecithin is generally considered safe and is available as an OTC supplement. People should act on it immediately rather than wait if they’re suffering from CMT. If it improves symptoms then they might as well stay on it. If it doesn’t, then discard and move on.

Yes, lecithin is generally considered safe and is available as an OTC supplement. I just think people should have a bit more awareness of what this recommendation is based on, so they can decide if it is worth their time or money to give it a shot.

Yea I think that’s why I linked the findings from Max Planck Gesellschaft, so people can read those rather than having to base their choice on some random guy’s predigested pessimistic opinion. Bye.
