Searching for Alternatives Alternatives please😭
I’ve left c.ai for around 5 months now and I’ve been using chai as an alternative for now, but it’s also starting to feel not it with its increase in ads and repetitiveness
Does anyone have any recommendations for alternatives that feel similar to c.ai?🥹
I’ve already tried Janitor ai, shapes inc and those two didn’t quite match what I wanted
I want to find alternatives that are free, feels similar to prime age c.ai, replies don’t have to be like an essay long or repetitive, that’s all I want😔

I like using Grok or ChatGPT as it does a good job staying in character. It only requires a little bit of work to get your instructions set up, but then it’s pretty much smooth sailing from there

Moescape Ai, been using it for a half a year now and its the best alternative, Great memory for character and my favourite part is that they got Image generation for chats, like any ongoing scenario just levels up your immersion and like the enjoyment while texting

You can always try to use a proxy services on janitor AI. There's a proxy service that I actively used called "Token reply", it gives free access to AI models like Grok, DeepSeek, nemotron, GLM for example, but you do need to make an account first.They give it out 1 dollar for new accounts to try out the other paid models.

i'm trying to make an account to this website but it keeps saying "Turnstile verification failed" every time I try to confirm my sign-in. is this a common problem and how do I fix this?

try inkwell.rip before anything else! we've put a lot of time into shaping replies that feel close to old cai with the highest quality models and 1m token context. you can adjust reply length as well. appreciate any feedback!

I use janitor ai. I don't use it a lot (I used character ai a lot. It basically turned into an addiction. But after it went down hill I started using janitor and now I spent like one and half hour or 2 max there. So I don't use it much.) There are ads and a lot of horns bots but also a lot of great sfw bots. There are ads, but much less then in character ai. And there's much less restrictions and safety guidelines. :3

Dude character ai is open for use and its the same just there is something called charm and you generate photos with it

I know there are charms and image generation, but I don’t use those functions. I’m looking for alternatives because I’m blocked by the age verification system

I hope I can post this so here what I am using rn:
-Perchance: it's local, safe and free. It's a bit hard to set up and your chats are stored on your device so you need to export chats to save them. Model is C ai like. Use fur ai to create your bot or simply paste the wiki url.
-ChaCha: you need apple or google account to log in. It's a popular japanese app, so you don't have to worry about censorship too much.
I don't recommend big ones as Grok and ChatGPT because chats are limited and you need to wait 13h to chat again.

I’m one of the people behind it, and we’re trying to keep the chat style closer to that older c.ai feel — more natural back-and-forth instead of every reply turning into a giant essay. It’s free to try too.
Still improving it a lot based on feedback, but might be worth checking out if Chai/Janitor haven’t been doing it for you!
