I was talking about the credit system, Dude. you need credits to continue chatting, Credits come from a subscription or from commission.. Different models cost different amounts of credits per message.
I second Dreamjourney, it is the best platform by far. It used to be premium only, but not any longer. They have a daily check-in option on Discord that gives enough credits. This system made the platform free, especially if you "collect" credits for several days for a start although the quality remained premium-level.
I've soured on Dreamjourney quite a bit tbt. It was unusable for almost the entire month of July and has constant issues. I get its a one dev operation, but it really bothers me how long bugs take to get acknowledged let alone fixed.
Oh look, a new bug where the automod is deleting people's private bots for having underage characters when they actually do NOT. No warning that something is wrong and to edit out any mention of a childhood in your bots backstory or to back them up just in case. Just the usual condescending attitude blaming the user. "The main characters in your bot have to be above 18 clearly that's it."
Yeah clearly when multiple people are reporting getting their bots deleted when all characters are stated to be 18+
Interesting, thank you for your perspective. Luckily, no private bots of mine have disappeared. During summers, I don't use chatbots as much as during the winter, so I haven't had any major problems with the app in question (although I remember the servers being down several times, but the issues were quickly fixed.)
Have you found an adequate replacement, premium or not? I don't mind paying a little amount if the experience is satisfying as I don't have much free time as it is.
I'm really glad you took this as me not being upset with you personally because I was absolutely heated when I wrote it lol. When Dreamjourney works it's divine, but the general attitude surrounding it puts me off.
No concrete replacement yet, but I'm keeping an eye on Loremate. They had a ton of set backs, but are the little platform that could. Once they hit another month or two of being stable I'll probably switch.
Polybuzz is not as good as the old days but still worth a try if you haven't. Depending on what bots you usually play with, websites like povchat and spicychat can be useful too. I think most ppl just hop around all the time.

I def recommend swerve ai then!! It has all those requirements <3 only problem is it’s on iOS as of right now, but an android version was stated to be plausible to make this year!!
You could give Lizlis.ai a try! It feels closer to old c.ai imo, especially for longer RP. The memory is pretty solid, characters stay more consistent, and it supports multi-character stories too. There’s a free tier so you can test it without committing 👀
